You're venting the hood I assume to allow for the V-Mount setup to cool properly with heat extraction away from the FMIC? Setup looks like it should be pretty awesome once completed!
yes, currently am planning on putting a vent on the hood for this though I don't think it will be necessary as the air can still exit under the car. there will be no FMIC...maybe i'm misunderstanding what you're trying to ask?
when i have the time, i work on it. currently nothing is being done other than thinking of mods required to radiator and intercooler...another little one on the way so will be busy w/ the family.
finally able to take the intercooler and radiator to the shop to have them welded up. i needed bungs welded to the intercooler and the radiator i had to modify the inlet/outlet for vmount purposes. will be able to continue building custom brackets to hold them both.
also made a custom tool to make the beads at the end of the inlet/outlet. saw it on the internet and thought i'd give it a try. not pretty but it does work, as seen on my scrap piece (left bead is the original, middle is with tool, rightmost is first attempt which i had to modify tool).
no big update. i put the radiator and intercooler into the bay. front of intercooler is bolted but the rear is just sitting on top of the radiator until i can make the necessary brackets. unfortunately i can't really do that yet as i'm afraid of waking up our 7 week old baby if i use the grinder which is very very loud. last pic u can see how the piping will line up.
cool. your intercooler and radiator look a lot bigger than my setup...how did you manage to cram all that in there? did you remove the front bar? i initially wanted to fit the FD radiator but there was no way without cutting that out and moving it (which i was not comfortable with since i just started welding).

Left the front bar actually. It was definitely a tight squeeze and the rad is under it. I made two side panels from diabond to hold the radiator. It sits a bit too low for my liking, so I have a thick skid plate. I used a random aluminum radiator I had from an FC.
hmmm...are you running smaller than stock diameter tires? looks awfully low. any issue w/ the rear binding? i've read going too low in the rear will cause snap oversteer.
I should have a build thread, but too lazy haha. Been building this car since 2011 i believe. The tires are 225/45ZR15 square. I was actually surprised how planned the rear was. I could not brake it loose no matter how hard I pushed. With the 15x10 3.5in back spacing wide stance and 6k springs, The car seems to be very happy and controlled.
i thought i was running some stiff spring (around the 250-275lbs range) but you've got 336lbs. so the rear end barely moves, that's why...lol. good to hear you have no issues.
i'd like to encourage you to start a build thread. we all love to read about other builds and see what works/what doesn't. and include plenty of pics. =)
edit: and i see that you are running smaller than stock diameter tires so that does indeed lower it a bit and a nice gear change. 225/45's compared to my 215/60's.

Yep, but with the rs-3 tires, the springs generate the perfect grip in the dry 70 deg + weather. Driving in wet was a whole different story.
Might get around on getting that build thread going. definitely took a bunch of pics along the way.
finally finished fabricating my brackets. pics below. just need to paint them. the radiator floats on the brackets and there is movement on the intercooler as well.
