Exhaust hasnt been changed yet
Been a busy few days.
Ripped out the whole interior minus the dash to get rid of all unused wires etc and clean everything up nicely.
Received my new BC Racing coilovers last Thursday they look epic.
Went to the Jozi Kxlektive meet yesterday. Was a leka day out with the gents and the stunning cars
Now gotta get gearbox changed, and detail the car and polish things up for the Speed and Sound show in September.
On to some pics

So the preparations began for our local tuner magazine show that happened 3 weeks back.
1. Install new plugs
2. Install spare gearbox
3. Get paint correction done as well as wash and wax
So set about installing the coilovers. Install went smoothly minus using tressles and jacks. Need a 2 post lift asap!!

Next were the Spark plugs. These things were wetter than a beach umbrella in a monsoon!

End result wound down the coilovers a bit more than usual for the show . Sitting perfect minus the need of some spacers

Got to meet Mr Liberty Walk himself Kato San from Japan. Crazy *** guy

Took the car for a tune as I knew it was running extremely rich. My tuner ironed out one or two things and then we started. The car still battles to start though

8psi run - 363hp

We then turned the boost up to max boost on 95octane pump gas
11psi - 470hp

Car pulls awesome however with it being a truck turbo the wheels in the turbo are small hence the power dropping shortly after 7000rpm. Need to get some bigger wheels machined in the turbo so it can hold power till atleast 9000rpm

Mad mike at Supa Drift
We then had Round 6 of our local Supa Drift event held at Carnival City with Mad mike in the badbul making an appearance
Lifted the car slightly to get over the speed bumps, gave it a nice wash the night before along with my friends triple rotor beast.
Set out to Carnival City early Saturday morning to get a nice parking spot. Car was on display for a local bisuness selling car cleaning products Called Turtle wax.
Got to meet Mr MannyKiller along with Warren from PPRE, mad mike as well as Lincoln. Awesome bunch of fellas, so accommodating and always make time for some chit chat.
Nice and clean

Meet up for the convoy through to Carnival City

Sitting pretty on display

Badbul baby !!! 20b goodness

Bay looking okayish

Mr Aaron Parker with Lincoln Whiddett

Aaron and I repping by the Badbul before loading it in to the truck

Was so awesome to hear that 20b singing with clouds of endless smoke pouring off the rear tyres. Epic build on that Rx8, carbon everywhere, Haltech ecu, garrett turbo, alot of CNC machining work done!

So this passed weekend was our local 7Stock called RotorFest. It is held at Red Star Raceway. They have a show and shine and then a power cruise. later they open the track for us to use.
I had lowered the car a bit for the event as well as stiffening up the suspension halfway between soft and hard. Car performed perfectly pulled like a machine and the new suspension really makes the car feel more stable.
Some awesome cars came out to play however the ones I was looking forward to most did not come. A re amemiya kitted fd with a 4 rotor turbo motor as well as a 6 rotor NA motor in a BMW V10 M6 body.
On to some pics I took with my phone quickly
Quite a serious Ford Anglia Drag car to be tuned in 2 weeks

Awesome FC

Plenty of these here just needs some decent wheels

Front is a 13b drift car rear is a 20b streetcar husband and wife

Use lots of heat and go really slow when doing those fenders if you don't want to crack that paint..!
Your FD looks so much better dropped down lower in those last pics there. I look fwd to seeing how the bags turn out; Nice Rotorfest pics btw!

Whats up guys
Been an eventful few months here in Sunny South Africa.
Started off with coming home from our local Rotorfest in September. Parked the car, went inside the house then decided to put the car in the garage. Went to the car tried to start it a few times and nothing
Checked plugs, changed plugs, checked fuel pump relay, checked the settings on the Microtech and still nothing. Got my motor builder over with a compression tester to have a look and see. Didnt look good. He told me Compression was down on both rotors. Seems my motor gave up
The following week my father and I set up about taking the motor out the car to get it stripped and sorted out. Whilst trying to get the motor out we came across a few things. Exhaust manifold was loose, oil drain for the turbo was loose on the motor only one of 2 nuts tightened and the left hand side motor mount had sheared in half, atleast I found my knocking noise now after all these months.

The motor was then disassembled a week later. It seems the side seal clearance was incorrect and there was blow-by there, looks like the stock port was opened too much by original engine builder before I bought the car so the side seal was not clearing the port and was hitting edge of the port and eventually broke. The rotors both have lovely dents on them from detonation, the oil pick up in the sump gauge was squashed so was not getting adequate oil which also ate up the bearings
The plated have ridges in them as well and the centre plate port is too large to use again.

Luckily I have a spare stock 13b series 6 motor laying in the garage at home
That was then taken the weekend after to get opened up to see what is going on with that motor. Thank the lord it was stock port, seems to have been rebuilt but all in good conditions plates are like new, only thing bearings look like they were on their way out. So we will be porting and doweling the spare motor and building that rather than the motor that was in the car.
We will be going with a V-mount setup with the Koyo Rad and a new intercooler so the car can run cooler. I am changing the manifold again to one with shorter runners so the turbo can sit lower and thinking about changing out the turbo again to something with more flow as my turbo makes peak power at around 6500rpm so I don’t even rev passed 7000rpm. Want to hold power till around 8500-900rpm so will see once we have the motor back.

Some pics of the Spare motor

Still 100%. Porting has commenced this week so should have it together in the next few weeks
Wrecked Motor mount

IN other news a mate of mine got married 2 weeks back. I accompanied the nest men and the groom early in the morning to the venue to have some pre drinks and warm up for the day

And then the Platinum came out

He was dropped off in my best mate's Jetta 6 with modified BBS Speedline wheels and Airlift perfomance suspension. He is the same guy earlier in the thread with a white Golf 5 GTI on air.

Car was dirty as hell but still looked good on my Samsung Note camera

Recently also been helping my mate with his Rx7 getting ready for a drag event happening this weekend coming. He got the car 5 years back and ran it until the stock motor broke. He has built and ported the motor now along with a Holset hx55 turbo, 3 bosch 044 pumps and full ethanol. Should run nicely when done

Last week we experienced some seriously crazy weather here in the east of Johannesburg. It had not rained for months here and we were experiencing a drought here. Our local dams and rivers are sitting on around 25% full which is extremely low so saying we needed rain was a bit of an understatement.
Last Wednesday it has an awesome sunny day up until around 3PM. Very black clouds rolled in so we all though oh nice, some rain would be lovely. 2 hours later this was the state of our roads:

On off the freeway offramps:

A basement parking

What seems to be a mk4 Supra who tried to find shelter under the bridge got the short end of the stick fully submerged in water:

Standstill on the freeway:

OK guys
So on to the suspension on the Rx7
I will be running BC V1 coilovers and I am installing Airlift performance bellows that screw on to the strutt. I placed the order for the bags start of August and I received them last week how terrible but atleast they arrived.
List:
BC V1 coilovers
Airlift performance bags
V2 AutoPilot management
Viair 444c compressor
4gal tank
The lines and V2 management along with the tank and compressor were installed in September a week before the bags were supposed to have arrived. After work today im going to pull the coilovers out and put the bags on. I just had to get some fittings etc first
The much anticipated box:

The goods:

I reckon this car should be very close to the floor when aired out. I shall update soon once it has been installed and tested

Thanks man yeah 2017 time to take it to the track and enjoy it turn the boost up and go
Whats up guys.
So been back at it fiddling away on Sunday whilst being terribly hungover eventually got the bags in and working. Once working we found out quickly the bags are leaking. They are Honda S2000 bellows for the BC coilovers. Turns out the oring inside the bag is to big for the shaft of the coilover. So we got a smaller oring so it can seal and will install again tomorrow and see if it did the trick. Still need to wind the rear struts to make them shorter for the car to sit a bit lower in the rear

Subframe sitting nice and low

My mate standing next to the car he is around 1.80m tall

And a pic of the car at Rotorfest with some promo girls with a funny caption

Whats up everyone.
Happy new year to all.
So after a hectic December I managed to pull finger out my *** and do some work on the car.
Scrubbed down the bay and started prepping it for spray.

1x Coat primer to seal everything up proper

And done

One of many boxes of nuts and bolts and other shyte plated

Decided to use left over paint from my wheels for a few odds and ends while they were stripped out the bay namely brake booster, windscreen wiper motor and engine front cover

Motor has been ported and doweled.
1-2 pics sent to me prior to polishing of the ports and all that

Booster in the bay to see how it will look

And wiper motor

Got an intercooler for Mahala so will run that. Just changing the outlets on the ends then will send it for anodising

2 Smaller Airlift tanks came in yesterday. Now to Decide what to do in the boot

Gonna get boost pipes done in Aluminium too so they can be anodized. Rest of the motor etc will be black.
Trying to sell my turbo so i can buy another one with a 1.15 AR housing. New exhaust manifold has been built so hopefully this will be back on the road soon
