Too much time at the bar, cut off from Sakebombs!
Well, After way too many years and too many moves, I finally have the time and space to start work on my 95 FD. Some of you know me, many of you don't, but some may remember when I got my FD way back when:

So, hopefully we will see some progress. Not a whole lot to update on as of yet, except the engine and transmission are out and a new (rebuilt) engine is ready to get some accessorizing! Yesterday was my second solid day of organizing my garage to make space for my new (used) workbenches, put up some motivational wallpaper, and get the engine on the engine stand. not easy to do with one person, but possible. ;-)
Engine specs:
Build by IR Performance.
Core: Used 40k mile engine
Rotors: Induction Hardened 9.7:1 Compression
-Machine lightened and balanced
-Portwork by IRP
-Metal front cover gasket (For you Rich)
I am sure that someone may chime in with any details I am missing.

All Engine build and porting pics are from GoodFellaFD3S. The only two that are mine are the first two in the first post. Which is what my garage currently looks like.
Depending on which parts I find first, I am either going to install the Turbos and OMP or tear into the interior and install the new carpet. We will see what happens.

What can I say, they've done a great job for me and I didn't want them to go to waste. ;-) Also, the benches and cabinets were originally not side by side. I have spent a good 2 full days and nights getting my garage organized and this seems to be the most efficient layout I can come up with. And hey, who doesn't like stickers? The plain white just feels so... racist. ;-)

The shipping company definitely wasn't gentle. A ratchet strap was actually damaged during transport. Its a good thing this oil pan was a throw away to begin with.
Xcessive Oil Pan installed. I followed their instructions except I added a small amount of the red high temp silicon gasket maker to keep the o-ring in place and assure that there will be no leaks.

Nice build. Glad to see IRP continuing to be successful. Whenever I need an engine again...definitely going there.
Question: The XS Oilpan...haven't there been issues with it basically shattering if you strike an object with it since it is cast. What made you decide to go that direction?

When combined with the bolted motor mounts, The oil pan will be very close to stock height. If I am worries, I will make an undertray that helps protect it, but the chances of hitting a solid enough object are very slim since this will not be a daily driver at all. I have two other vehicles before I have to count on this one. And IRP did a great job of working with me through every aspect of my engine build. I have every ounce of faith in this engine build. I look forward to the very first start up. I am definitely going to get it on video.

That is true, but those do not hang down below the subframe, I was thinking of using the xcessive oil pan but decided not to when I saw how far it hangs below the subframe.

These are good points. In this case, the amount the pan hangs down will be lessened by the noltec motor mounts. they are slightly taller than stock. If I end up with engine height issues, I may go to shorter mounts and make an undertray that will protect the pan.

Thanks! I'll get a better pic up eventually. I spent WAY too much time getting it organized. I REALLY need a shed to store the lawnmower and yard stuff. THEN I'll have a LOT more space. Working with the wifey on getting a shed funded...
Don't let yourself get too sensitive, next thing you know, you'll be skipping DGRR for a "Touched by an Angel" marathon.... or at least going all "American Pie" every time a hot woman walks by.
So, currently, I am having to ream out one of the holes in my RA OMP adapter to make it fit. The unit is a very tight fit. I should have it fit up along with my Mikuni OMP by tomorrow night. Pics will come.
