Well, when I had the blk fd running last time, I had to get it towed 2wice! Both time I was glad I went with 99 front as the urethane bumper flexed when it the car was pulled from the stock tow hooks.. I don't think the Feed front end will do the same...

I looked at it again and Only place it will work will be the area I pointed out.. I think 1/4 inch SS or steel bent tow hook shouldn't be a problem.. And if it straighten out during pull, Oh well, Thats why I bought a replica Feed Type 2R bumper also I'll probably put the replica bumper on first before I put the Real thing..

 

Yea I don't see how it would hold it's shape without some.

 

I think some of you are bit more cautious than I... If I get into a situation where the car is buried where I need to lift its entire weight with the tow hook, then i say it might not work.. and at that point, I say **** with the bumper and get the damn car out!

But most cases, we're only talking about few hundred pounds of force to pull the car.. I think bent 1/4 steel should hold its shape well over 1000+ lbs before loosing its shape.. But who knows.. But if you look at feed tow hook, there is no gusset(s) in place. I've seen in person, Agentspeed's tow hook before he installed it and sold his car, and there wasnt one.

This one helps me the most! I'll re-measure and see where exactly the tow hooks will pass when I have it straight. If its like this one, it might pass it at the flattest point on the feed bumper.

 

They cut the **** out of the front support.... I like the intake tubing and V-mount though. This picture helps me as well because I see that the oil cooler is anodized blue. I now feel more comforatble about anodizing my rad black ;o)

I think a bent hook would work. Just overengineer; 3/8 gusseted steel and roll out.

Ok, where did you get them and how much. I'm tired of breaking my Tripoint engineering reinforced mounts! I was going to design a new setup, but it looks like someone beat me to it.

 

hard to see from that picture, but i can assure you that everywhere 'cut the **** out of' was well braced. the car and fab work is awesome - i spent a LOT of time looking

I never understood why a lot of these japanese tuners end up using the stock intake manifolds, though...

as you could see Right red one is fine, the blk right one is slightly bent... Left Red one is bad and Blk left one is good.. I guess these things bent pretty easily also..

 

it seems very rare. maybe it's a racing class restriction - i don't know. if you had seen everything else done, though, it seems that anything is open to modification...and then there sits the stock intake manifold. It leaves me scratching my head.

I REALLY like the N/A 3 rotor setup. I think I'd like to go that direction when I return home and actually have a place (and time) where I can work on a car.

Really strange how those endlinks seem to be bent there - I wouldn't have expected that.

 

oh, and dubulup would be correct - that's the engine for RE Amemiya's winning GT300 car, which is the yellow car I posted a picture of.

My engine builder is going for N/A 3 rotor also... with carbs. Should be interesting.. He's going to put it in his 3rd gen (both which he bought from me).


I know, the end link thing kind of bothered me a little. I didn't think i was driving that car that HARD! LOL! I guess next best thing would be to go with Tri point Sways... But that might be bit too much for me.

that is going to be my project in a few years for my FD... gonna be sweet lots of HP.... auto-X monster.. (lots of torque.... for a nice large power band...)
