Great guy and I'll be installing them hopefully this weekend.
What kind of tool would I use to polish this: (see image)
I've polished a few things, but it was easy coz there werent alot of curves. (intercooler, bike frame, wheel lip etc.) and I only used alot of my hands and some sander..
But for this type of parts and also wheels, what would I use?
I can probably figure it out by going to the parts store. . . .

^^^ hey herb, just wondering what you think about tow hooks only being on the passengerside front, and one in the driver rear.
i understand that they're used pulling cars out of jams on tracks but how useful are these on the street? 1 hook in front isn't going to help much for towing onto a flatbed. i always wonder why the hooks arent paired up 2 front 2 back.
btw the buildup is looking great

Only time I see this hook not being enough will be when your car went off the cliff and needed to lift up the car completely off the ground by the hook(s).. But if your car is in the kind of situation, I don't think it really matters how you get it out or where the chains are attatched to.... as your car will be most likely be,.. totally fucked up at that point.

And I got these for the Feed Fenders (which I'll be getting it painted in a month or so)....

Phil
This car is very nice. The quality of workmanship is outstanding. It appears to me much more than a project it appears to be a passion. I am not sure I have ever seen a FD that has been planed out so well. It appears that a true craftsman has done the work.
Only other car like yours was from Lousina and Bo was in it. That FD did not look as nice but ran like stink. Oh yea the guy that did the work, had 35 years building turbines.

Glad you came out to the DGRR.. and your car is quite amazing also! I'm hoping to come up to Huntsville and hang out with you in near future. Hopefully the Blk FD will come out the way I'm planning and hope it will make pretty decent amounts of power (and eventually, get the 20Bs built and put in) I just wished I had more time.... But also glad I have the MB to drive around in...

^Too funny Phil. "Drive it like it's stolen" or not yours right"?
I absolutely love what you are doing with the car. It's going to turn out to be one of the nicest FDs around. Congrats.
Not to steal the thread, but as you have a vented hood, does anyone know of one that looks pretty much stock? I've have the temps in my car down to 200F but I still feel I can improve on this and a vented hood keeps coming up. Any ideas on one that would keep the car looking "stealthy" and cool?

David,
If your temp issue is water temp, probably not much at all. I think some intake temp could be lowered thru vented hood (small!).. and pending how your radiator and intercooler is set up, but its going to be very minor change also.
I think if you are having water temp issues, it might be better if you try something new.. ie, electric water pump or multi pass radiator. I been thinking about this on my 20B and I know cooling will be one of the issues I'll face. But by what I know about rotaries, oil temp is far more important then coolant...
