LOL! I do have quite abit of spare parts.. But I think fritz flynn has more! I went over there and.. WOW! What I have is a joke compare to Fritz.

Opps.. CF plate.. I'll try to work on that..

Here is my new project.. I cleaned up the paint today, fixed the gas door, and replaced the driver's door handle. I'm going to take off the engine maybe in 2 weeks and see if I could get it running by mid march.

Tomorrow, I'm going to install my cleaned up rear sub and diff. I'll post some pics after its done.

Wow, that looks really good Phil. I think you should invest in a trailer because with all the work you're doing, you might not want to actually drive it.

I can see in the second and the last picture, you're really "flying by seat of your pants" Hopefully, that's an extra pair and not the end result of too much beer while you work. No pics required please!

LOL! You know how it goes when you drink too much.. J/K. Naw its my work clothes laying around the garage that I used it so it wouldn't scratch the painted diff.. Not that it will last that long when I drive this thing on the road.. At least its pretty just before it goes out on the road

I test mounted my SSRs and found out my trailing arm needs to be re-mounted... Its damn close to my 18x10.5 rim.. Also with coils, it gave me about 10mm more spacing between the lip of the wheel and the strut. Before I could barely fit my index finger, now I could put it thru. With less camber, I think I should be able to run 295s or 305s. Currently its 275/35/18s.

so this is with the feed front's you got as well?
and are your rear qp's rolled?
what toe links and trailing arms would you recommend with this size wheel?

I just installed my tein flex coilover / full delrin bushing kit.
Unfortunately I didn't get to clean everything up as nice as you.

Looking great phil.

Geez, those parts are crazy clean!

Phil, have you already posted what method you used to clean up/paint all your suspension components? I just bought a spare set so that I can press in my bushings/pillow ***** at my leisure, and I'd love to have mine lookin' like yours !

Thanks Mike!

Well, I ran the rear's before with fenders barely rolled with Tokico 5 way and RB springs with out any problems(275/35/18s). I now have a eastwood fender roller and going to roll them and see if I could extend it little farther. If I F*ck up, I'm going to install the Feed rears... If I don't, I guess I'll keep the rears for later date.

Fronts, I've heard with Feed fenders, I could go 295 easily. I'm going to test fit that this weekend. I'll post some pics.

I wish I had spare suspension parts.. I'm actually thinking about buying a set so I could do what you did Rich.

Let me ask you, What do you think about buying a set from a car that's burnt down? I'm wondering how high of temp stock suspension parts could handle?? I think my MB needs some bushing replaced and I rather take my time and do all the stuff at once.

Oh, I cleaned those parts by sand blasting them (hours and hours), then clear coated them. Its not perfect but clean enough. Subframes, I sanded, spray with rust remover, Pressure washed it, and then high temp paint (3 coats).

If I may, why did you spray paint, instead of powder coat?

nice build man. I have been reading on it since you started. I love how you have gone through and painted everything. Something I would do when its in pieces.

As for spray paint, its high temp engine paint. Its cheap, easy to use, looks good, and well cheaper than powder coating.

I saw that.. I'm taking it out and cleaning it.. Also I need to get new part that holds the coil and to the rear sway.

Just as Scheetz pointed out, Its cheap and I don't have oven big enough for the larger pieces. Maybe next time when I have a shop of my own, I might consider doing it again RIGHT! But for now, my concern was to cover up bare metal after removing the rust. Also It saved me quite of bit of time by not stripping all the parts.

Hey Phil, for the spacing on the trailing arms, you may want to rotate the arm 180 degrees. The end that connects to the body is offset from left to right because of the metal sleeve that fits where the stock bushing would. I put it on with the short end toward the outside of the car because it made the arm more of a 90deg. angle with the car. So if you take it off and turn it, the wheel may fit fine. As long as everything is tight the wheel shouldn't hit it, it doesn't need alot of clearence, but I would make sure it had more than what the pic showed.

Hope that made sense if not give me a call.
