Manifold, turbine housing, dump tubes, wastegates and down pipe will be black high temp ceramic coated with edition of inconel heat barrier wrapped in cased all of the above.

Might do some heat shields on the intake runners to separate the heat a bit more. if i have room after the inconel wrap..

Hard lines are a must in my book for any single turbo rotary..

All in all its an expensive road to get this done right from the get go, but will be enjoying every minute when done and have no worries of heat transfer etc... ..

Thanks

Nice work on that manifold. Just be sure to protect the TiALs from excessive heat. I was running two on my 12AT, and i melted both.. The first sign of failure was the black top, turning goldish in color. Completely ruined the diaphrams..

When using hard lines, how are you protecting them from engine movement and vibration? I was thinking about using all hard lines and then short like 4-6" flex sections at the end of them back out where there's no heat.

Ran one end of mine into a rubber line or connection to allow for some flex or vibration.

Engine movement is not a issue in this set up as its hard mounted..

But I'm sure it will be trial and error etc...

Thanks

while there are some aspects of your build that are not really my taste, i think you've done a great job building this thing from the ground up. looking at the photo with the turbo in the engine bay is almost comical the way it's almost as big as the engine itself. this thing is going to sound downright rude! think the T-Rex in the final scene of Jurassic Park ....

one a sidenote, you mentioned something about this being the manifestation of you could otherwise spend on booze, broads or narcs ... well, let me say this ... if you were spending like this on any of those vices, you'd be dead now! good God, man. well done!

awesome detail. dont know which part of this build i like more!!! not the front end...lol. but thats a matter of taste. love the exhaust work. what would it cost to get you to make me a muffler like that complete with tail end in a 4"? just the muffler with tail. i'll have to get mounts fabbed up since it is for a 1st gen.

Thumbs up

Your attention to detail is simply on another level. Keep up the great work for us to drool over, dreaming to having a similar build some day!

The Coast Fab aka Burns Stainles mufflers are great, glad to see you using them. A single 2 stage might be a tad loud for some however

Awesome build. It amazes me how much focus one can have on a project like this. I love it. I have a question regarding your exhaust. Do you plan to ever run a resonator? I was just curious, as when I had my FD,I ran straight 3" from turbo to muffler (a crappy OBX-R that melted in a few months) and I remember how LOUD it was before I added a resonator in the mid-pipe. Seeing as you've already buttoned it up I assume not, but just wondering if this crossed your mind, I guess.

(p.s. better luck next time in poker. Texas Hold'em? That's my vice!)

No mid resonator in the future regardless how loud it is. There is a thin line between comfort and ***** to the wall performance. I did all i can do to keep the sound coming in the cabin but regardless how stiff and how loud this ride will be, i will have a permanent grin across my melon at all times.. ..

Thank you

Also, really like putting the coils on the plenum. Gives you easy access and a straight clean run down to the plugs. Look forward to seeing it at Deals Gap.

Thank you..

Some updates.

Got all the welding done on the turbo kit. Now its off to get coated etc.. In the mean time will start on the fuel lines under the car as those will take some creativity..

All in all happy how it came out..

Slap that on a stand and stick it in an art mueseum. Beautiful work. A friend of mine is running a twin gt40 3 rotor PP and that sounds pure evil, can't wait for this to fire up too.

Just a note, my friend had huge back pressure issues with his straight through exhaust system, remove the exhaust and just has 2 down pipes now, issues have gone. Running off WG pressure and open header he smashed an fd manual box to pieces. Now running a powerglide auto
