MY 13B-RE Fd single turbo build(standing up for the Rotary) lots of pics
In the midst of a world of RX-7's with V8's, im standing my ground and keeping my swap Rotary. Thats the point of owning an RX-7, because of its unique motor and body design.
Although i have thought bout the V8 swap(ls2 swap), espcially after riding in my friends LS1 fc(making 468 to the wheels). I love rotaries to much to do that.
dont get me wrong, V8 RX's are fun and fast. but Rotary= PURE AWSOME.
so here we go.
My plan is build a Great FD that is track ready, yet streetable and looks great.
I plan on tracking the FD atleast 2 times a month. I want to prove to People that Rotaries are as, if not more Reliable than piston motors.
Goal is to make 380hp at 11-13psi.
The Chasis: 93 FD3S Base model. Silver with black interior. no sun roof. 90k miles on the chasis. Tokico whites with neuspeed springs.
the Chasis has been sitting since 2000. close to 10yrs.....
I plan on painting the car a purple. still have not decided what shade to go with yet.
The break down of my Set up:
of what i have and what im going to get.
Fuel set up:
Turbo set up:
Exhaust Set up:
Oil cooling:
i plan on running upgraded oilcoolers, SS lines with the proper ducting,
still not sure what brand to get.
Intercooler set up:
Managements Ecu, boost:
Chasis:
Wheels and suspension:
im still not sure what coilover set i should get...
wheels i plan on getting
SSR Proffesor sp1's
17x10.5 front
17x11.5 rear
still unsure on the off set and tire size..
Interior:
I know im still missing a lot of stuff, but heres some pics.. enjoy.
Any and all criticism is welcome.
dropping off the parts to get cleaned and assembled by Lucky 7 Racing in Duarte CA.

while everything is out of the engine bay you may want to convert you steering rack to manual? Just a suggestion. Also, if you are keeping the MOP get some SS lines for it.
i have been tracking the FD pretty frequently the last couple of months, twin turbos and all, it's as reliable as anything out on the track. Glad that you are staying with the rotary and the build is looking good!
same goes for the MOP, idk if i should just premix or run it..

yea, well everything so far has been easy because i have most of the stuff i need for the most part lol...
thanks i appriciate it.
i should have more updates soon
1 question i never really got answered on other parts of the forum was,
since im aiming for high hp, and im going to use a PFC.
is the hks twin power compatible with the pfc?
and
should i run the hks twin power, so that way spark doesnt start breaking up???

Look up afgmoto1978 his build thread is great, and has a lot of good info.
