well how much farther does it have do you think? I'm not sure what you're having done but it seems to be an outrageous amount of time already. they could have definitely been done whatever they wanted to do in the 2-3 months they've had your car! hell, you could have sent it to me and i would have returned it faster than this! haha

hope it works out well, i've been following this thread from the start.

any type of custom car work can take FOREVER. Especially if the shop is waiting for certain parts or has a lot of other customers.

I have found that most shops that take FOREVER are either

1) Incompetent

or

2) Perfectionists

Let's hope #2 is true in this case!!!

I hope your car is still at their shop and not stolen.... Maybe they are stalling for more time to figure out how to break you the news.... (just kidding)... I am sure they are probably just trying to make it perfect.....

You should list the shop in Cali where the car is located... Then one of our members can stop by just to check up on it and take some pics for you to post them here.... Then we all can have peace of mind.......

What do you think?.... Good idea?

How much further? "Only time will tell"! Seriously, I keep telling myself that it will take as long as it takes. Then I come to this forum and start missing the car all that much more. Damn you people!

My money is on #2. If it's not, I'm screwed, right? I've come to know the person working on it well and he's definately a "mad scientist" type. Very cool ideas that I think you guys will appreciate.

Thanks, but I'm going to keep it "stealth" for now. If something goes wrong, I'll definately take you up on this though.

Soooo, back to waiting, waiting, waiting....

Either that or they're having a hard time generating the 1.21 gigawatts of power the 20b needs to fire up.

Yes, been driving the Range Rover until the FD comes back. Cool ride but it's not my RX7! Progress, although slow, is being made. Stay tuned for more

Been keeping up w/ the thread and poping in and out....but I must have missed it.
Just to re-cap Pettit put the 20B in for you, and your Cali guy is building it up for you?

Joel,

It's been about 18 months, with most of it down at Pettit. Now in CA. I think I'm a glutten for punishment.

Did the turbos ever work our for you?

Kind of. Pettit completed the car for me but the twins just wouldn't make the power I was after. So I'm now solving that problem

What is the solution Dave? or do we have to wait til the end? I have read through the thread and don't remember seeing anything about it. I could be wrong cause there is alot of literature in this thread.

Since David is being so secretive and it's taking so long, my guess is that he's getting custom twins fitted and some nice interior work done.

why didn't you just got to the place Red-Rx7 went to? Sure Cam is good but you want to look at what he has put out and what his ideas are about the 3 rotor. Cam is not the guy you want to go to for tons of power or single turbos he has more of a factory mindset as far as reliability even while heavily modding cars and is also not as fluent in ecu tuning as some of the younger guys who have grown up using computers : )

I concur with this. If you want good, reliable power and great fabrication, Cam is the man. As for tuning, this probably isn't Cam's forte. So, the car is in CA to finally (I hope) get done to my satisfaction.

I haven't mentioned what I am doing. Would rather have the results in hand before I give you guys the details. Hang tight!
