Wow, just got through reading through this post (bored at work, I read this post when I have the chance). Awesome project. Wish I had the money. Can't wait to see the outcome of this when you're completely done.

I don't understand why you are keeping the name of the shop quiet.

I would hope the shop is more secure than that... I don't think he would trust his ride with them other wise. And I think David waiting to reveal any changes so he can gloat in everyone's amazement once the "sheet" is removed . I know I would.

Not saying gloating wouldn't be fun, but I was trying to wait (heck it's forever anyway) until I achieved success with the car before posting anything definatively. I'll have lots of pics and a write up then.

I hope your car makes it back from Cali before I move to Cali in the summer

If you're too decrepit to drive it, I'd be happy to be a surrogate. You can live vicariously through me instead of the reverse.

You have got to be kidding me! I read this entire thread, and still no resolution. I hope this project gets finished up, for Dave's sake, and for all the people who've put in the long hours on this thread. We all deserve it.

Nope, got it back from Pettit many months ago and said I'd be happy driving the car with "just" 400 RWHP. We'll that didn't last long.

So, made arrangements to "fix" the 400 problem. Should have been back several months ago but I've learned these things take time. Unfortunately.

Took about 7 months. Most of the work was done in about 60 days but then Pettit found out the EMS they normally use for the 20B conversions (Lynks?) is no longer available for the 20B. This sent them into a 5 month process of selecting a new EMS and then attemping to tune the Wolf unit. This where they failed.

So, I picked up the car about 70% tuned and spend several months learning the Wolf unit and tuning the car (with the help of my local resident FD expert Dean Colver). We had it running pretty well but just couldn't seem to break the 400 RWHP barrier. Couldn't get boost to hold above 10 PSI or so.

So, I'm now attempting to solve that issue. Hope I'm not in the same cycle as the above - keep you posted.

Damn dude. Thats no fun. Why didnt you get Pettit to just eat the price of the ecu and go a different route. There are many people runnin different EMS's on 20B's that work just fine. Seems like they made a mistake and they should be the ones to justify it.

IN the REAL WORLD not thing "beat displacment"

Dont give me wrong I like RE so much(I even have PP. and single turbo) but when it come to make big HP, not too many thing can beat Americal IRON.

the funny thing is this nothing beats displacement quote....ive seem many big block blown american cars get stomped...i mean...f*ing stomped by supras and rx7s all day long ....i think you greatly overdramatize american motors by alot....dont get me wrong...i have a 1966 ford galaxie 500 witha big block in it and its pretty cool to have...but i dont give a sh*t what you say....these jap motors and turbos beat the crap out of everything including but not limited to porshes, lambos, ferraris,etc....
