War Eagle
I've been following your progress for quite a while - enjoyed the recently posted vids.
Very impressive 7 - that is a fine *** with those flares and massive shoes to say the least...
Never noticed you rear license plate trim - WAR EAGLE! Hell of a game last week, maybe we can get it together next year and not get stomach ulcers while watching games.

Regarding the wheel/tire sizes, I never even thought of something like this as I was a "purist", that is until I saw a car with the Pettit flares and wide back wheels. Fell in love then and had to do it. Goodfella has talked me into replacing the tires (Michelin Pilot Sports) with new Michelin Pilot Sport 2s as the tires have been on the car for about 5 years now. They have great tread on them as I have logged only about 7,500 miles during the past 5 years, but he's convinced me the rubber is getting hard and they need to come off. So I am going to replace the fronts (18X9s with 245 40 18s) with a bit wider and lower tires (255 35 18s) and the backs (18X12.5 with 315 30 18s) with wider (335 30 18s) ones. Not sure if anyone will notice the difference but I will.
The 555WHP at 12-14 (boost didn't consistently hold) is good but the spring in the Synapse wastegate was too soft to hold consistent boost at this level or above so we couldn't turn it up anymore. We'll replace this with a stronger spring (it was left back at the shop) and redyno in a few weeks. Also note the 555 was made on a Mustang dyno which conservatively reads 10% less than the typical Dynojet so if you want to compare apples to apples then this would be about 610 WHP at this level. My goal is to hit 650 or so at 18 PSI so I am very confident this will be done once we replace the spring.
And the 6,000 RPM level is really more like 6,500 as I saw it but given boost wasn't consistent Jesus didn't want to go all the way up in the powerband until we fix the issue. The really cool thing about the dyno graph (didn't keep it as I will wait until we have a final "real" one) is WHP was a straight line up all the way through the graph, meaning the engine has plenty more HP to give before it starts to fall off. In fact, HP had just made it slightly above the torque curve in the graph.

Next year is looking up for the Tigers and I will definitely make it to a game or two. Might even take the FD up for a game

David - have you weighed the car yet? Just curious....wondering how it would compare to something like a track prepped Z06
Looking forward to you bringing this beast to Asheville so I can check it out, I still have your old wheels on my car btw!

The car should weigh in at around 2,900 lbs. A bunch of other 3 rotor guys have just weighed their cars and they have all been less than this. I guess my wider wheels and tires would add a few pounds but both the wheels and the tires are pretty light. I'll probably make it to the scales soon anyway as Jesus and were discussing corner weighing the car so we can make sure it's balance properly and the coil overs are set right.
I'll have the car up in Asheville in the next several months as the house is just about done.

You likely addressed this issue on a previous page, but reportedly the stock trans can be a weak link at this level of power/torque. Have there been any issues with popping out of gear under hard throttle? Some have gone to a high strength aftermarket racing "dogbox" trans.

a 3 piece work meister 19x10.5 with a 285/35/19 tire weights 58.9 lb!
when i had my car corner scaled it weight 2953 with 3/4 of a tank of gas but i had my old ssr that were very light 9.5 with 245's up front and 10.5 with 275 in the rear. your car has to be in the 3000's with those steam rollers.
I'm surprise you have not had any transmission problems dave.. I've blown 2 of them so far

I haven't blown a tranny yet but I do have a new rebuilt one on the car. Did this as a precaution. When it goes I'll go your route of swapping it out for a T56.

David, have you made a full throttle pull in 4th gear to 8000 rpm? Supposedly a great way to strip the teeth off the gear in a single turbo 20B
edit: I remember Carlisi was very careful in the upper gears with his setup. It was a balancing act between traction in the lower gears and keeping the driveline together in the others.

I'm curious how the t56 bolts up to the rear plate, is there a thread out there about it?
also, what you said about the dyno's isn't quite accurate. A mustang dyno is a loaded dyno that is supposed to simulate the loads that a car will experience on the street. It's not set up to read conservatively less, in fact, it's more accurate, and as most people will attest, better for tuning. and it can be anywhere from 5-25% less than a dynojet. (usually 10-20 but there have been cases of more.)
You'll probably be well above 700 hp at the motor tho. In fact you're probably over it now, figure in 15% loss on the mustang dyno and 15% drivetrain loss (average estimates) and that puts you around 720 .
