Sorry, I don't remember where I got these from -
but this would be a similar route I'd go if I'd have to do it again:

I was just looking at that. Was wondering if someone sold a set like Improved Racing does for the fronts.

Thanks though

I was considering a clear set and smoking them. Trivial though, I'll get around to it eventually

Yeah, it's a Feed Afflux GTIIR wing.
Tires - 18x10.5 + 18, on 285/35/18s rear. 18x9.5 +22, on *I think* 255/35/18 - or maybe they're 265s...I'd have to check again. I've changed setups on these things 3x hahahah.

Went and got the car's alignment and corner balance a little earlier to beat the rainstorm coming down this weekend.

God bless those Evasive guys for spending so much time dialing the car in. I had changed out so many parts on the car in one shot, that the machine was erroring out trying to read how misaligned it was They had to fiddle with the suspension settings to get it to even read. And what a big effing difference it was on the road. Made driving with the Atomic Rex rack wayyyy easier with all the wheels pointing in an agreeable direction

I'm actually quite pleased with the weight of the car, I thought it'd be heavier with all the parts I've been slapping on it.

Unfortunately, since the car's been tinkered with so many times, I'm not sure what I did to make it lose boost pressure - I discovered that issue driving back from the shop, since the car was now in better shape for some actual acceleration (and then I found I didn't have any hahah). So that's next on my list, as well as rigging up a new resistor for the airbag light, since the one that came with the Works Bell hub blew. The Works Bell hub only used a 0.15ohm, 1/8 W resistor (it was a tiny tiny little thing to read...that made me feel like I was going color blind trying to see the color bands). I'll test it out with a 1ohm next, since those are easy to find at a Radio Shack.

Rainy day projects for the weekend (unless the garage is too cold).

Hey Carol, just finished reading through this thread for the 2nd time in a few months and I really like your tasteful build. There are only a few FD's on this forum, Ive seen, that I really like and yours is definitely one of them. I like best that its a street drivable car and also built for the track, a true dual purpose car. I have been building my FD for dual purpose street/track duty for a little over a year now and have dropped a ton of time/$ in parts, done all my own labor and respect that you are so involved and passionate about your 7. Its build threads like these that really keep a lot of people on this forum inspired with their own FDs, including me. Inspired to start building their cars, keep pushing forward with their own builds, and even to start their own build threads which are a great asset to this community. I may even start my own build/project thread here one of these days. Thanks for taking the time to post updates and pics, I cant wait to see it at 7 Stock this year.

Your car is one of the best on this forum, and the paint scheme really sets it apart.

Carol,
How much gas did you have in the car for the corner balance? Also, do I read correctly that you put in over 2 degrees of camber F/R?

A hair under half tank of gas. I told them to throw on track settings for the car since my intentions are more to set this up for a track car, and less as a street - but those guys know their s2000s, and not rx7s. They may have gone a bit aggressive with camber, but I thought I'd give it a shot first. What would you recommend?

I just went through the same exercise, but with a full tank of gas and 175 lbs of driver ballast. Car was 2934 in street trim (with divider, hatch cover, etc. that I remove for the track).

I went w/ 1.4 front, 1.2 rear, and 6.5 deg. caster. This is still more aggressive than Pettit's "long track for 18" wheels" suggestion. You need less camber on this car than some others, because there's camber gain built in to the suspension, though I've seen autocrossers run really high camber. Just thinking you may wear street tires unevenly with those settings, but I'd solicit other opinions.

A few years back my dad ran the Pettit long track alignment specs, and the inside of his expensive Yokohama street tires wore out in no time, like 5k miles IIRC.

I had the same experience with a set of Potenza so3's. There's no call for running that much camber on a primarily street machine.

Carol, you've built a mean looking car, little sista. Yours is definitely one of my favorite non-stock bodied FDs

Thank you It means a lot coming from a builder of one of the cars I look up to! Now if only I'd stop doing stupid things like saving for a down payment on a house, so I can finally put some $ to getting a little oomph out of the motor!
