ImStillOnJava: belated Project thread
#326
Aside from the shopping list of parts,
I also finally got around to installing the Sakebomb 25-row 93+ vs. Setrab dual oil coolers, with the nylon braided lines....and I'm realizing how annoying it is (my own fault) that nothing lines up just "perfect" (reference Mocal thermstat clearance to the center OE aluminum bar brace), because my Noltec mounts sit the motor too high up. Might entertain the idea of replacing these mounts and trying something else when I turn things about with a new engine. Besides that, the installation and fitment of the Sakebomb parts are dead-on, and easy as pie (helps that I already have a/c and power steering removed). Everything lines up perfect, easy to install, and instructions were clear. I should have done this a long time ago!
I only find small windows of time to work on the car each weekend, so I haven't gotten around to actually priming the system and testing to make sure there are no oil leaks....so the front bumper is staying off in the meantime.
The bumper may stay off for a good while, because after testing the system for oil leaks....I will start fabbing up:
1) oil cooler aluminum shrouds
2) VMIC brackets for my Ron David radiator and Spearco intercooler
3) after getting everything test fitted and running.....pull the motor out and get it replaced 0_o
#3 is a doozy, because I'd also need to get the GT35R turbo kit ordered and set up, as well as a new wiring harness......I foresee delays. hahahaha. Additionally, while the engine is out, I intend to have the engine bay repainted and the front core installed.....
Financially I'm a bit set back because I picked up a new toy last weekend:
and it needs a little bit of work before i can unleash it to cone dodging duty

Bumping this old thread because I just received the shine/FEED front bumper, front and rear fenders along with the rear diffuser from the buyer who originally bought them from me.
All parts still in great shape. He never mounted them. Shoot me PM if interested.
Thanks,
Fritz

Hey! Funny thing, I used to the post notification e-mails on for this thread when you were doing the build, so to see an e-mail for this thread pop up into my inbox was total blast from the past!
I was so bummed when you let the car go, I would have taken it off your hands had I known it was up for sale!
How's the Lotus treating you?

Lotus is doing well. Couldn't keep it stock (of course). Did some lightweight mods, suspension, track time...then managed to screw up the rod bearings and ended up building up a new engine. Added aero...and then added more power with a TVS supercharger. I need to break out the corner scales and readjust again, but I'm roughly around 270whp on a 1800# car now. Just finished shaking out all the tuning and getting it back on the road in the past week

This RX7 was probably the best looking fd out there. I have almost everything identical for my car waiting to be installed. Even the wheels are the same as the ones which used to be on this car
Confused between painting it Black or Purple :-P
I wish I could find some high res photos of it.
