We'd like to inform the community of a scammer we came across. On 2/5/20 Mihn Dang placed an order on our website for a set of RX Parts Apex seals and a Sakebomb IGN-1A ignition system for the Mazda RX-7. This was after he had conversations with us through Facebook messenger, called the shop phone, and tried to have us run his credit card, which was declined multiple times. We instructed him to place the order online once he sorted out the issue. We were also informed by our apex seal supplier Roan Farquharson that Minh Dang had contacted him and attempted to haggle the price of the apex seals to try to get a better deal.
The entire scenario felt suspicious, but since our secure website processed the order as well as Paypal approved it, we went ahead and shipped the products. Tracking was provided. Approximately 10 days later we received a dispute from Paypal when Mr. Dang reported the transaction as unauthorized. Immediately we attempted to contact Minh Dang and see what the issue was. We were unable to get him on the phone and he blocked us on social media. We then submitted all supporting evidence to Paypal including the conversations, transaction receipts, tracking, and proof of delivery. This wasted the good part of the afternoon but we were told that we would be covered under Paypal's seller protection.
We would strongly suggest refraining from doing business with this individual. The entire encounter felt off. M&M Mobile repairs seems to be a fake business with no apparent legitimate listings and the address appears to be a residential apartment or townhouse. Even worse is Mr. Dang's email suggest he works for Garda, a security company that deals with pickup and transportation of money. Turblown and a few other community members have also had issues with this individual. Allegedly he drives a white fd with crazy colored wheels. Attached are relevant information regarding the encounter. Feel free to share to all your friends and business owners. We have contacted all of our vendors to have this individual blacklisted from purchasing parts and services. The Maryland State Police and Garda have also been notified. WE DO NOT TOLERATE SCAMMERS AND THIEVES IN THIS COMMUNITY.
UPDATE. We beat his charge back case and weren't out any money but this knucklehead is apparently at it again and has tried to scam the same vendors twice. Stay vigilant.
