XS POWER Intercooler arrived today!!!

Well, after stressing and wondering what I was getting for my $130 shipped, the WHOLE package arrived today including the intercooler, pipes, clamps, couplings!! Shipping took 3 days, it was packaged VERY well!! Pipes are chrome polished and everything looks GREAT!! For those wondering, the $99.99 opening bids are a COMPLETE KIT!! Those of you waiting, go for it!! I have pics if anyone wants to see, but I am sure you have seen it before!! Maybe they dont have any flow numbers, but for what I paid I am super happy!!

The only thing that is odd is the boxes say "fc3s" on them......but the pics in the auction show an FD and the auction also says "RX7 turbo II FD3S" so whatever! But I checked with the same people and their intercooler kits that say "twin turbo rx7" are exactly the same aside from the piping being 2.5" as opposed to mine which is 2.75"??? Either way, its the right one and as soon as I get a radiator installed Ill start making a duct. I am trying to come up with some ideas using sheet metal since I have some friends at a local heating/ac buisness that has access to sheet metal and obviously are good at making ducting! Ill post some pics when I get started!

Yeah, they all say FC3S for some reason. With the Greddy elbow, you will have to fab. a pipe to connect it from the intercooler to the elbow.

I don't remember reading anything negative about these units...gonna have to jump on the band wagon. Hell $100-$130 that is the cheapest mod I've done to this car.

I need an intercooler

Where can I find this intercooler, because I was looking at paying around 900 for a good intercooler. Is it stock mounted position or is a front mount? Got any pictures?

Search...I believe someone did snap a picture of the internal fins. Also people have posted better temps with this intercooler. I'm convinced that you don't have to spend all that money to get a good intercooler, at least it's definately better than stock.

People spend more than $100 on the ghetto *** air intake mods that various vendors sell, that claim to give hp and cooler air. I can almost assure you that any IC is better than the stocker, both in temp transfer and pressure drop. For the money involved you can't go wrong.

Yes it does. The flange is located on inside of the pipe that runs from the y pipe to the intercooler. I believe it is made for the Greddy BOV. I used my Apexi BOV, but had to cut the flange, turn it 90 degrees, and weld it back on to make it fit. Other people choose not to use it and simply block it off and continue to use the stock location.

Here is what the kit looks like installed. This was just a mock fit-up. I'm still waiting on my intercooler duct so the car hasen't been driven that much.

Would this intercooler fit with the Greddy intake? Also it looks like you have to remove the smog pump.

cool.

But I must say without ducting, the stock unit still outperforms this IC. Or any other SMIC without a duct for that matter.

SMIC without an air duct = crap.

that is true, any intercooler without a duct is crap... thats why I haven't been driving my car much. I am getting the one from the group buy. He isn't making anymore though. Don't know if the intercooler will work with the greddy intake. I would also reccommend using a heat shield as well. I use one although it is not on in the pictures because it was just a test fit. As far as the smog pump. People have made it work with the air pump and strut bar, but mine would not. I eliminated it(no big deal, I don't have emissions and I run a midpipe so it wasn't doing anything anyways). But like I said, there is a picture in the other thread where a guy was able to use it with his air pump and strut bar.
