Take it to a rotary specialist to have it checked out. Thats what I would do so you know your not getting a bad buy.

Not trying to be a dick but if a slight oil leak is making you think twice about the purchase of an FD... This car is not for you.

If the only thing wrong with the car is it leaks a little oil, it is definitely worth it.

A cheap FD is not always a "good deal". It's only a good deal if *you* can put it on the road cheaply. Depending on the mileage and engine condition, it could cost quite a bit more to make it decent.

Get the car checked out by someone who knows a little more about these cars. If the current owner won't let you get the car checked out, then he's probably hiding something and you should keep looking.

Check the FAQ thread, it has a few "Buying an RX7" links. Here's one:

Oh the truth in that statement People that want to buy my cars link me to another deal they found online of some hacked up fd and say it is $500.00 cheaper than yours, I try to explain it but all they see is the price difference and overlook mine has a fresh rebuild, and been completely gone thru.

Done with rant
