why am i idling so high??

after putting a 3" exhaust on my car i idle at about 2000 or 2500 instead of the usual 750-1000. but it has also been acting funny since i put differnce guage faces in too....any advice??

Hmmm that explains it all, you put indiglo gauges in the FD and its way of getting mad at you for it is refusing to idle at the correct RPM, tisk tisk ,

if it is actually 2000-2500rpm, its probally an are intake leak. you might also want to try to check and adjust the the idle set screws

what kind of gauges did you install? are they the ones which are like paper inback of the stock gauges?

ur gauge could be faulty wired. The idle will jump a little bit when u get the exhaust since it has more air flow. So it should idle around 1100-1500 depending on ur pipes
