I struggled to remove mine..the problem is the screw has thread lock on it,,,
put the screw driver on the screw and whack it with a hammer , the shock will help to brake the thread lock. (if this doesnt work you could try heating it up with a gas torch).. once the thread lock is loose the screw comes straight out,,,id replace it with a new screw from mazda.

Heat the screw up with a torch and use an impact screwdriver. If you just use a regular screwdriver, you're wasting your time.
