what's it worth?

Hey, guys... I have owned 3 1st gens and its time to go big... I just moved to LA and I have found a 93 twin turbo w/ 57K miles. The body is in excellent shape...very minor road dings on nose... No sunroof....red w/ tan leather interior...after market stereo.... When I started it up it sputtered slightly and RPMs dropped to about 1000 after a minute or two. And I did notice a strong gas smell in the exhuast. What should I check out besides compression before I considering buying. And from the brief description...whats a fair price. Dealer is also offering 3 year/45k mile warranty with the car. I would appreciate any help guys.

If there's a warranty in place, have them fix all that **** before you buy it.

You might post in the CA forum, but that's actually the best idea which is to have someone local how knows quite a bit about FD's go with you to check it out.

Also, make sure to get the compression checked before shelling out any cash.

Get the warranty in writing. Once you start making warranty claims(and you will) they are gonna try to shut you down.

IMO, the car is only worth what you are willing to pay for it. People on the forum here have gotten similar cars and spent a lot more or a lot less than other people. Spend what it's worth to you.

For the CA folks, try posting here:

I agree with Mahjik. It's worth what you are willing to pay. But for a comparison, check out LAmotocars:

They also come with warranty. Good luck.
