What can be removed with a PowerFC installed on a base map?

I have a 94 FD im looking into deleting all the emissions and keeping the sequential system. I have a catless midpipe and i have ported the turbo wastegate. I acquired a power fc and i am wondering if i can have the car running with no emissions (air pump, aws, accelerated warmup, egr, etc) on a base power fc map without any issues? I have been searching the last couple days and i have been unable to find an answer to that question. I do plan on getting the car properly tuned later in the future, i am hoping by Banzai. I am building the engine myself at this point. i would just like to know if i can break the engine in on a stock map without a problem.

my main goal in doing this is to simplify the stock car as much as possible. I think retaining the sequential twins will be fun, id like everything else to go.

I am the only fd owner in my small city that i know of and would appreciate input from people who have experience. I am pretty new to rotaries and am super new into tuning them and have never messed with a pfc.

Thank you!

I have also heard that different pfc’s have different stock maps. My pfc number is fd3s4 if that is relevant

Based on your described koalafications, you're way far in the deep end of somewhere you really shouldn't be. Just thinking about how to advise you properly is a bottomless pit of a conversation as it involves going backwards with what you have already done.

Others will collectively shoulder the burden but i would like to say you need to slow down and stop getting ahead of yourself. You're going to end up causing yourself a lot of self inflicted problems if you continue down this path. You need to read and ask questions BEFORE making moves, not after.

Theres no reason in the world that anyone has to "figure out" literally anything on these cars anymore. 99% of the stones have been turned and are very well documented here on the forum. I do wish you luck and hope everyone will nudge you on the path to making better decisions and getting your car sorted out.

All i have done is port the turbo, and keep the mid pipe that my car came with. The guy before me put it on and blew the car up, im trying to prevent that. If the only way for me to do that is to revert everything back to stock, i can. I have another turbo and cat to put on. Everything else on the car is bone stock.

if its burden, don't take the time out of your day to make a condescending reply.

I'll use simpler terms next time but its not a burden in the negative sense of the term. Maybe if I said "handle the responsibility" you would have taken my response differently instead of seeing it as a jab. Either way, good luck. There are a lot of resources here and everything you've asked about has been covered.

It may be easier to use Google to search the forum instead of the forum search tool. If you go on there and type "rx7club.com: (search term(s))" you'll get better results that are easier to sift through.

You can run the base map without the air pump, accelerated warmup, EGR, etc. The PFC does not care if those emission parts are installed or not, it will run well with or without. I was running simplified sequential (emissions delete) and ran the base map for months if not a year without any problems prior to having my car tuned. Good luck!

Yes, with the Pfc base map you can delete all emissions. But you’ll still need to control boost (and get a tune). Porting the WG is only good for avoiding boost creep, not boost spike. Anything other than the stock intake and IC will require BC, either manual or electronic.
And unless you’re doing fuel mods, I recommend keeping it at 10 psi to be safe. You’ll also need some other things, like an idler pulley to replace the one lost with the air pump.
As mentioned alot of info in the FAQ stickys.

The nice thing about PFC is that you can keep all those systems, while other ECUs won’t support it all.

You should keep that stuff. The number of FDs that will pass a real inspection grows smaller every day

So if i put the car back to stock, can i leave the turbo with the ported wastegate on the car or will that cause issues? Just curious

^Should not be an issue.

I disagree. If I don’t live in a state with strict emissions and don’t plan to move to to such a state, why would I want to retain the complexity, weight and failure/trouble points of emissions? Other than MAYBE some resale value from a somewhat narrowed market if I bought it as an investment and planned on re-selling, I don’t see much incentive to keep it just for added originality. That said, at least in my case, 16 or 17 relatively trouble-free years ago I did store all that stuff away. But have no regrets on removing it.

That is exactly my thought and where i’m at with the car. what boost controller do you recommend? I was looking into the newer greddy profec. I know the pfc has a boost control kit as well, i need to look into how well it works. and i was also looking into the manual controllers.
and i would be installing the boost controller to control spike, as a safety so it doesnt exceed 10lbs basically?
