My 93 R1 weighed 2796lbs with a full tank at an SCCA event. There is 15 gal of usable gas in the tank at 6lbs a gal that is 90lbs. That puts the car at just over 2700lbs. I have a 51R battery, DP, intake, CB as weight savers but I also have an M2 IC, rear seat, cruise, shocks and springs and factory CD player that add a few pounds.

I think a stock base would be close to that 2660lbs with an empty tank, maybe 2700lbs even. I wish people wouldn't weigh the cars with empty tanks so we can all compare.

I always thought the tank held 18gal? Costs $40+ sometimes for me to fill it up...

Nope, it's just slightly over 20 gal.

I think the book says it holds 20 but I have run mine several times until it chugs at stoplights and never get more than 18 gallons in it.

Trust me, it holds more than 18 gallons... j/k

Actually, I've ran it down to E a couple of times and added about 17.5-18 gallons. Mazda always leaves 2 gallons past E (or they used too), so 20 gallons seems to be legit. Although I have hit fuel starvation with 1/8 tank left on a freeway entrance ramp...not funny.

Yeah, but those last two gallons are useless unless they get into the fuel lines And if your on race tires it's not the last 2 gallons that are useless, it's more like the last 10
