Weighed my car tonight.
I weighed it with my heavy *** Work Meister wheels on it. My car weighed in at 2,350 lbs. I sat in the car and my race weight is 2595 which comes out to my exact body weight.
I knew it would be light but not that light. Sounds like I'll have fun at the track tommorow night

Whats up with that scale? I though FD's weighed in at about 2800-2900 lbs? And your car looks to have all the stock interior trimmings and whatnot.

Take a look at my pictures and you'll see my weight reduction modifications.

I'm a CF and poop smith
i still dont see how ya lost all that weight. did you get rid of the hatch for a lightweight one? did you get cf/fiberglass doors? lexan windows all around? got rid of turbos? pulled rear bins out? light weight battery? lighter brake rotors (haha now im just pulling stuff out of my *** )? running only a gallon or 2 of gas? tubular suspension componets? gutted rear of car? Took off the peskey rear bumper supports? Took off front bumper supports as well as cut off the front frame and just welded up tubular supports for the front bumper? Lost the stereo system (including antenna)? no ABS, NO PS, No AC (including blower system in cabbin)? took out power brakes (flintstone style braking hehe, you didnt cut out the floor pan so you could get your feet on the ground did you and lose a bit of weight hehe )? No windsheild wiper system or coolant overflow tank? no ast tank? Aftermarket steeringwheel? took out airbags? got rid of support beam in back of dash? took out interior carpet and sound deading stuff? cf/aluminum driveshaft? other then that the only thing i can think of right now is an ultra light airfreshener
BTW: is this you http://us.f2.yahoofs.com/users/3f2ea...y17c_Ah_D5DItS ?

We go to a local recylcling plant to weigh our cars. I got rid of the ps/ac/abs and all emmisions of course. I also did the 8.8 rear end swap. I didn't think it would be lighter though but I guess I was wrong. I removed lots of things but also added stuff too. It would take a long time to tell exactly what I did but, I guess it worked According to my calculations.........
I will only need 398rwhp to run consistant 10.80's
Haha

Sounds like the recycling plant scale reads low so they don't have to pay as much for the material you drop off there Not that I don't believe the scale but you should correlate it with a different one. don't see how you could be that low unless you had Lexan panels, no interior, etc. I don't think the stripped race cars are that light...

I just don't see it being possible. I know of cars that are completely stripped, including carpet, all interior pieces and most of the dash and they are only down to about 2500lbs.
It just doesn't seem likely that a car with some many intact parts could have lost that much weight.

If it was that easy to remove so much weight, Mazda surely would have trimmed more at the factory, as one of the driving obsessions the whole time during design was weight loss..
My stripped down Neon weighs more than 2350, something is obviously askew
Goto a CERTIFIED scale and see what kind of results you get

If the scale is for dumping off stuff they probably don't care about having it certified correct. They measure your weight of your vehicle in, then you dump off, then they measure you out. The only thing they care about is the difference between weights...

Hmm, Ari's full on drag car weighs in just under 2400. Everthing behind the dash and interior panels is gone and only one seat. I guess your justifying the scale by subtracting the weight without you from the weight with and comparing it to your actual weight, maybe. Have you gutted the dash yet?
