poorly, IMO...

The PFC uses the stock solenoids to control the pre-control and wastegate actuators. Unfortunately, you are just setting a fixed duty cycle. Therefore, changes in weather or other variables will change your boost levels.

This is why, IMO, a separate boost controller is a good thing to have. Not to mention, it's much easier/faster to go between the boost settings on a Profec than on the PFC.

it's in the manual...settings...boost...then you have to set your desired boost level and your duty cycle for the primary and secondary. and you have two boost settings. whatever the cursor is on is the one it'll use. but like rynberg said, it's not great at controlling boost.

we dis-agree. thats why I sold you the profec, LOL. I like how the power fc controls boost, well except for figuring out the fuel cut thingy which I finally did.

Haha, one of the few things we disagree on...I love the Profec.

Curley:

Yep, you just set the target boost level and then adjust the duty cycle until you are hitting that boost level. If you go too far over the boost level, the PFC will fuel cut -- which Zerobanger can tell you all about...

My boost control has been overshooting lately with the Power FC. I suppose this is due to my failing turbo control solenoids, which I plan to replace this week. I'll follow up as soon as I install the new solenoids. Right now, the boost has been exceeding the target by 5 to 6%, ie, 0.80 kg/cm^2 (11.4 psi) peaks @ 0.85 kg/cm^2 (12.1 psi). Secondary turbo operation has been intermitten, and needs vacuum to operate properly (letting off of the gas to create 20 inches Hg vacuum, and punching it again).
