radiused edges, dished, polished, cc's, 9.5:1 compression.....******* ruined!
the crank wheel is bent up, but i can straighten that out in a vice. now i gotta find a set of rotors, do all the work on them, get the whole **** rebalanced, then pick it up this time!
if the car makes it to sevenstock it'll be a miracle.

I know the feeling. I ordered a pair of leather racing seats for my seven a few weeks ago and they were both damaged on arrival special thanks to UPS. Thankfully I purchased insurance though.

UPS should take care of you. Talk to Mazdatrix - they should have a contact at UPS to handle an insurance claim. They may send an inspector out to look at the damage, and they should pay you for the value of the parts. Make sure to hang on to the packaging so they can see that they roughhoused it.

How well was it packaged? Mazdatrix might have done a better job boxing it up - it's not THAT hard to protect cast iron!

while we are on this rant.... fu*k ups!!!!!!!!

i sold a very very rare 1970 L88 corvette hood on ebay....there is no replacement for this hood... only copies... i packed the crap out of this thing... and wrote fragile.. and .. this side up all over that package.... they inspected it and said it was good to ship... i bought insurace... needless to say the split it in 1/2!!!!!! and by the split, some one stepped on it.... then they told me that my claim was deined... twice!!!! they told me it wasn't packed enough.... i spent 50$ in bubble wrap! and they inspected it before it was shipped and told me is was good to go!!!!wtf is the point of insurance??? so in the end it cost me 150$ in shipping to brake my rare hood... i'm gonna try dhl next

I go with the 6' rule. I assume they will drop it from 6' or more, and drop something heavy on it from 6' or more. Because they will.

So for tough to package stuff, I'll often nest two boxes inside each other and pad inbetween.

But the claim is possible: they will deny, deny, until you get hardcore with them. But I think each package is insured to a value by the pound, unless you declare a higher value.

You really have to pack the **** out of things...then pack it some more.

UPS delivered something coming to me to the wrong address in my city. Their response? "At least we got it in the right state!" Swear.

**** UPS indeed.

I dont think it is entirely UPS's fault Mazdatrix should have packed it real good since we all know how shipping companies dont give a f**k about the stuff we ship...

mazdatrix used a lot of bubble wrap, but come on... ANYTHING can pierce bubble wrap. all they had to do was wrap some ******* cardboard around the damn things!
that would have saved me a shitload of hastle!

yea, it was insured, but i don't give a **** about that. i wanted my high compression turbo fd running before seven stock.

i hate how the majority of my problems are caused by other people.

Quite a while back, a college friend of mine had a computer sent by UPS and found the chasis caved in bending the motherboard in two among other things.

Needless to say, the only stuff salvagable was the memory and a hard drive.

Most, if not all damage during shipment is due to items not being packaged right. UPS treats all packages the same, like crap. Its just the ones that arn't boxed properly that get jacked up.

There is no safe way to send packages now days anyhow. I took a box full of RC supplies to the post office to be shipped to Australia today, insured it for $600 and the guy then pushes the box of the counter onto the ground.... I cringed.

Luckily all packages shipped through UPS are automatically insured for a certain value (Which Mazdatrix should have insured it for the full amount anyhow) and they pretty good on getting claims taken care of for us.

I used to work for ups. Keep the packaging and have them come and take a look. If Mazdatrix took out insurance on the item they should cover you (providing they find packaging to be adequate). Automatic insurance is only $100.

Good luck.

Dave- good luck fighting with UPS. I've had so much problem with UPS before. Engine rotors, housings, S5 taillights, and other FC parts and other fragile stuffs. I was only reimbursed for the rotors and i had almost taken them to court because they would not fix the problem. I know you want your FD running before SevenStock but FYI UPS takes alot of time to settle things up. Claim money might not get to you by then. Unless you become a PITA to them and they might move faster. When i had MAZDATRIX port all my 5 new housings i took it to them and even picked them up.

i was gonna pick them up, but finding time off is so hard these days...my mistake!

the nicks on the sides i could have lived with in a pinch... just round them off and repolish. ghetto, yes, but it would have worked. now the apex seal groove i'm a lot more bitchy about. but i do have a set of those nicholson mini files

ok, now replacement cost is not what these cost me, but i did some math on it..

if i replaced these with brand new rotors, then paid myself $60/hr (VERY reasonable shop rate for that type of work) for the time i spent on them, had the **** rebalanced, add tax and shipping on everything, and i'm in the hole $2350ish!!!

these took a shitload of time...i cc'd the combustion chambers to match when i lowered the compression--incredible pain in the ***!. **** man, that hurts...

btw: claim is filed and they'll call me back sometime in the next 24 hours.
