ups makes me cry.
reguardless of whose fault it actually was, why do i get the feeling i'm gonna get my coulo reamed?
the guy at mazdatrix was really bitchy...he kind of jumped my **** about even calling him about it. i'm like dood, i don't give a **** who fixes it--just as long as i get my **** replaced. ups just had me leave a message.
niether one is gonna pay up.
kevin...as much as i don't wanna hear you say **** like that, you're absolutely right...i'm gonna get fucked over.

In most jobs that'll get you fired...there's always ************* looking for a job.
As far as getting fired, workers aren't supervised all the time. It only takes 10 seconds to get frustrated and dropkick and fly the box across the truck. Also, disgruntled workers do the most damage. If you have a shitty manager, i guess more **** will get damaged, because they won't care as well.
damn...i just got off the phone with ups. EVIL MOTHER *******!!!!!!!!
apparantly, (at least according to the lying bitch i talked to) ups doesn't have a claims department... yea ******* right! they don't have a claims manager, a phone number to talk to anyone or anything.
if the bitch said they don't have a customer service department, i would have been more likely to believe her.

It's all about the packaging

Are you serious, this is how it came with the flywheel attached to the Eshaft and the rotors floating around in bubble wrap???. That is the worst packaging i have seen in a while....Thats all Mazdatrix problem, they need to kickdown. You have to package it like it's gonna be dropped from a airplane...needless to say that looks like a lack of packaging. Mazdatrix needs correct this issue and replace the parts...
you can submit a complant to the BBB http://complaint.bbb.org/ and/or the California Attorney General's Public Inquiry Unit http://caag.state.ca.us/consumers/mailform.htm on line.
I agree.. That is the fault of MAZDATRIX.. THE Big problem, they will never admit it! And there is probally a chance that UPS WILL DENY the claim due to the was it was boxed...

no dood, i already made note of that. the stuff is in there semi-unpacked just so people can see where they were physically in the box. i took the other pics of the packing. didn't you see those?

i got a pair of rotors from brian galloway earlier this week. you could tell he used new boxes, but they were beat to **** on the outside--looked like someone ran them over.
undo all the packing and i found the rotors wrapped up in cardboard
undid that and they were in another bag
(each rotor shipped seperately)
inside THAT, i found some undamaged rotors (other than some scratches from a previous apex seal explosion)....so what's the moral? cardboard is stronger than bubble wrap. even though the shipping company beat the **** out of the boxes, the contents were perfectly preserved.
so ups denies responsibility
but so does mazdatrix.
alright folks...i'm coming clean. obviously it wasn't either of their faults, so it must be my fault...that's right, it was MY fault! i'm just not sure how yet.

That was a **** poor packing job. They should have seperated those parts in multiple boxes and double boxed the rotors.
I would call Mazdatrix and ask to talk to Dave Lemon. Dave is the owner and is a straight shooter. I bet he will do something for you. I would show him this thread as well. Good Luck!

-UPS will deny the claim due to insufficient padding
-UPS will deny the claim because the outside packaging is in good condition
-even if UPS did honor your claim, odds are m'trix didn't opt for the extra insurance, so $100 is your maximum benefit in that scenario
-UPS insurance is quite slow, and is geared to require multiple phone calls, documents, faxes, etc. in an effort to get you to forget the claim
-UPS insurance ONLY covers the actual shipping cost plus the actual value of the goods being shipped, and they require documentation (invoices) to support those claims.
-UPS insurance will take 1-2 months to process and refund your claim, in the event they follow through.
-UPS insurance claim decisions are based upon the OPINION of one person, whoever they send to check it out, and you as a customer have no right to question this person's knowledge or opinion.
Good luck with that. IF it were me, I'd be getting out the file. You can have the thing built and installed by the time you get your first phone call about it.

he said he even caught one guy using one big box as a boxing partner..i was like WTF!!! LOL

I'm sure you have more, but if you need any rotors, let me know, and I'll try to help you out. I have a good number of 9.0's right now and a few 9.7's.
FWIW, the last 9.7 fd engine I built ran great at mid to high boost, but the spool wasn't anything to be proud of compared to a stock compression engine. I've built a few hicomp turbo engines, and it doesnt do all that much for it in my opinion.

Wow... That hella sux
UPS cracked a super rare nissan optional aero bumper for my silvia front a few months back. I was looking for one for about a year, finally found a mint one, and came with a fat crack on it. I just lived with it, nothing else I could really do.

can you snap off any pics of the 9.7's?
i've got a couple sets of 9's, but i really wanted the higher compression.

Damn after seeing all the carnage I went out to my shop and build this. I highly recommend you build a shipping box next time for stuff like this. You could put this in a regular cardboard box with some bobble rap to keep it from bouncing around. Only took me 30 minuets using scrap wood in my shop.

I used to pack UPS trucks. For the Richmond route, I was required to pack four to 4.5 of those 3/4-size UPS 18-wheeler trailers, floor to ceiling with boxes (they have hatches to allow boxes to go below the floor as well) in about 3 to 4.5 hours a night.
Those boxes just start rolling at you off a massive conveyor belt system, and it gets very hectic. They put the newbies and lesser packers on the lower-volume routes, and when those guys get overwhelmed, they just start throwing stuff, and packing it any which way. I'm surprised more stuff isn't damaged.

Man...that sounds like you'd definitely better have your lower back and leg muscles in order if you're working there...

primary concerns are apex seal grooves--make sure they're not "V'd", no pits or chunks missing...basically close to perfect for that part. faces--no chunks of apex seal or pitting, and if the rotor did happen to blow a seal, check the corner seal slots for fitment. anything other than that is mostly aesthetic.
they'll probably get new bearings if i have the time, so that's no biggie.
thanks
ups finally called me back... i got about 20 pics for them--they said that was good enough and they didn't even need an on-site inspection.
other than that, they said it would take 10 days or so and i should contact the shipper for monetary compensation.
i can't wait 10 days to get this **** done... 10 days (what they said) usually turns out to be 20-30 days before i'd hear anything on it, then another (god knows how long) few months before they actually do anything on it.
it's be nice if mazdatrix would spot me a set of rotors and be a dear and balance the **** again for me. if ups denies the claim, they'd be responsible for it anyway, if ups accepts the claim, i'll have hte money to pay for it.
but yea...that'll happen.
