underhood fire...some help

i had a small fire under the hood( under my driver side headlight) and burnt a good chunk of my wiring harness. at first only my dash lights went out. after getting in the car, my headlights, signals, rear, and stop lights went out. anyway, i drove home and took a look at the harness but the thing is all one peice. after taking some **** out, i finally hooked back up the wires that were cut/burnt. now, the lights mentioned above dont work, my hazards also dont. the hazards did work when it first happened. long story short, whats the best way for me to do the wiring? or whats other options do i have? should i just cut the harness from 2 ends and rewire each wire separetly?any help is appreciated

I'm no expert on this but I would figure out what caused the fire first...then worry bout rewiring, or it may just happen again.

If you have full coverage insurance, take it to a shop and they will take care of it
My friend did this once but his whole engine bay caught on fire and got a new motor..
What ever you do get it done A.S.A.P
Good Luck

Umm.... were you running the higher wattage bulbs? Might wanna switch those out for stock if you're going to bring it in for insurance purposes. Running those bulbs can cause your wiring to overheat (and cause a fire).

yeah that harness wraps all the way around the car (almost) and it's about 2000 for a nem one. so just splice the wires back together and check your fuses cause it probly popped some of them.

cut out any damaged wiring and splice some new ones in there. if it continues after that then i don't know what to tell you.

i tried that...either i screwed up somewhere(which i doubt) or the wires were burnt further in the harness
