Exclamation Turbo failure?

Well I took out the fd for a spin today and noticed immedietly that my fd wansn't pulling. I got a hks bov and it works fine, but my fd use to pull at around 4 k now it doesn't even pull at all. Could this be turbo failure? please say no. :'(

I also took it on the hwy and put the pedal to the medal and all i got was 140 km/h...

Do you have a boost gauge installed?

Easiest way to tell if you have turbo problems is as said^^ a boost gauge. Even if your car is stock it's still a great investment.

Typically a sign of turbo failure is a big cloud of blue smoke behind you at full throttle. Sounds like you may have a vacuum line/check valve/solenoid problem.

Ok I got installed a boost gauge max I could get is 0.28

I got the Knightsports EBS III boost controler and I got no idea how to use it... I didn't touch it at all so I'm guessing that what mgoddard1 said might be my problem?

.28 bar is too low to be a controller problem.

Take off the flexible piping that goes off either end of your intercooler. Also check the one that's right above the turbos, leading toward the intercooler.

Remove each flexible coupling from the car. Stretch the rubber, turn inside-out, and look for tears or leaks. Replace what's not working.

I've check and re checked all of them and they look fine to me, but I did find out a hole on the intake pipe it must of rubbed against the air pump but I don't think thats my problem or could it be?

What's the deal with this elbow? It looks half missing or hammered in.. that can't be good for flow..

Custom elbow but it has always been like that and no problem

I did everyhing recommend by everyone that has replyd took the fd for a spin now I get a reading of .5 on my boost gauge which is a little better than before but not as good as it use to be. Could it get better if I do something on the ebs controller? I got no idea how to use it though.

Did you remove the crossover pipe that is at the back end of your red arrow?

There is a coupler under there that frequently splits and leaks boost.

Take it to a shop and have it hooked up to a "leak tamer" machine. That is the easiest way to find a leak. In both of my FD's I have had this this gasket leak. I don't know what it is called so I borrowed your picture and circled it. It is amazing to me how much boost/vacuum can be lost through such a small hole.

Call local repair shops and ask if they have a leak tamer. Seriously, It will take them 5 minutes to find the leak(s)

Good luck! Hope this helps!

Wow, I think your right, not long ago I got my clutch fixed and I looked where you mentioned and I'm guessing the mecanic forgot to put 2 of the bolts on... the two bottom ones :S so I think you solved my problem.

+1 on the coupler at the crossover pipe. I've had a leak in the past from this very same coupler that even my mechanic missed as he tried to trace the leak.

Make sure you take off the entire coupler and examine it closely as well as get your fingers into it looking for cracks. I had a split right down one side which you can't see by just looking at. I put the coupler up against the sun and when I could see sunlight coming through it revealed that crack.

Funny thing is when you want something right you gotta do it yourself.
