Question True or False

The pre-cat has a high failure rate between 50 and 60 thousand miles.

I had a pre-cat on around 96k miles, saw it glowing red one night and got a SS DP soon after.

I would say more like between 60 and 80 - 90K miles.

There are some that go sooner, there are some that go later. More importantly, though, is the amount of heat they radiate while they are on the car - functional or not.

A downpipe is definitely a must-get mod.

Mine was gone by 62 K. Core had broken, but thankfully not blown back into the main cat.

I replaced mine with a DP at 80k, it is still in great shape, sitting in my garage looking pretty.
