New Rotary Concept!

I wouldn't post this normally given all the back and forth of the next rotary-powered car that has been going on for the past few years, but this looks like it's legit!

Mazda just teased this image for next month's Tokyo Motor Show and the lines and design language have "RX-7" written all over it! I hope this happens and isn't a too good to be true situation!!!

IMO, Hood lines look like the FD
Under the windows looks like the FD i.e how the door stick out wider then the roof.
I don't like the slant of the back window. That looks rx8.

And I love me an Aston Martin.
This is exciting. How many crate motors is Mazda going to sell if this releases? I wonder what the weight difference between a stock REW and an aluminum 16x is... I bet you could get the FD down to 2600 range and 300hp with just an engine swap.

I think your thread title is overly optimistic and misleading Mazda didn't say anything about that being a rotary in their release.

I think there is a more realistic conversation about this subject going on in this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...maybe-1090285/

that is correct. we have a few data points, and it would be cool to put them together.

here are the facts.

the 16X has been on the dyno long enough to be in the early finalizing phase.

there is a new sports car being shown at the Tokyo auto show.

can't blame anyone for linking those two together!
