What wheels are those?

The NSX cost alot more than the average RX-7 but doesn't really perform nor look any better (though it is still awesome car). Plus...

NSX *** = ugly and stupid-looking:

RX-7 *** = so sexy, so beautiful, wanna make love to it!!!

If you like it, get it.

im sure, your FD is probably paid for or close to being paid off.(hopefully)
If you don't mind picking up another/bigger note. More power to you.

Personally IMO, NSX's get no respect. I view them as snacks,
I spanked one in our bmw and others ive run across in my FD
tremble in fear and owners don't really seem to have to much
"faith" in them. Other than that.. Its great car if you don't mind
being south of 300hp and worrying about stock evos and mustang gt's.

I guess someone else is considering NSX...

Well, I'll put my 2 cents.

I was considering an NSX because I always wanted one (I just love the looks and I almost bought one back in Jan 2001).
And I Just want to get one just to keep it stock and drive it as a daily.
But if you want to make power, add body kits, upgrade the suspension, etc etc, I think FD's a better choice. NSX in my opinion will take more money to make it faster and lighter.

If I pick up an NSX, NO WAY IN HELL would I replace it with my 7s. I'm still a ROTORHEAD and always will be

The NSX is a great car, but its priceless to see the face of someone when they ask you how many cylinders you have and you answer "i dont run on cylinders...I run on rotars..."

^It loses the magic after a while. Plus the real answer to that question is "I don't run on cylinders, I don't run on anything. This car is never running!"

The purchase price is, simply the price of admission.

Sounds like you're doing something wrong then. I have 2 rotary engine cars (both with engines that I ported and built myself) and they run great. Hell, the 500 motor hp one runs better than the 160 motor hp one

The later NSX's made 290hp thats not far from 300. Plus if you think NSX's are so slow find me this spring you can see want happens to a FD when they compare apples to apples with a forced induction NSX.

My good friend has a low compression NSX with a custom turbo kit. It makes 530rwhp at 15psi on pump gas and is good for over 800 on C16.

The NSX is a well put together car, and can make a great performance car platform. So just becouse it is a honda dont count it down and out.

The FD will always have a special place with me but it really is not a good street car. Its like a special needs child it needs constant attention.

Dont get me wrong, I love this car but I think is time for a change.
this isn't a very hard choice owning a seven is a love hate relationship you have to be really devoted to own one for a great amount of time if you are really tired of it then its time to change to something a bit more run of the mill

If you want a car that you could take to the track EVERY weekend, beat the **** out of it, drive it home, and then drive to the store to get a snack, the NSX is for you. They are very reliable. Just because they don't have an insane amount of power does not make them an inferior car. THey are extreamly well balanced and their build quality in awesome.

I allready got rid of my FD. My next big car purchase is defiantly gonna be an NSX.

So far as the NSX goes, Honda decided to release a supercar that could be every bit as honda as any other honda. It would be daily drivable, it would have good traction in bad weather. it would allow you to golf. In 1991, they released the NSX and achieved all their goals - almost. They included the quite plain standard honda dash and did not ehance the interior as much as some would have liked. But with honda, less is more and you got more with the NSX.

15 years later, less isn't so much more anymore. Sure, those are probably the most comfortable seats i've ever been in, and the car is just as easy to drive in rush hour traffic as it is on the track. Still after 15 years, one would expect more than replacing pop up lights with Xenon's , a 6 speed transmission, a minor bhp upgrade and a lift out roof.

I have a few friends who own this car, one of which is a daily driver with a boatload of miles on it. We basically changed the clutch, adjusted the valves (valves? oh yeah, one of those wierd cars) change the oil. Other than that, it just goes.

The one friend with the supercharger doesn't drive his too often, but you can smoke the wheels into the distance if you so desire. Seems powerful and fast enough to me but i have no idea what the dyno numbers are... and he doesn't care. That's the thing about NSX owners. Its about much more than simply numbers.

For me, the NSX lost lots of luster once i saw how poorly it was doing in Autox. in the early 90's. That's when the RX7 was doing quite well. These days a SuperStock RX7 doesn't have much of a chance anyway...

wow this is straight down to preference. One thing us FD owners can say (and probably will say) is that our cars are more "exclusive" because we use Rotors instead of pistons. Our engine displacement is smaller (but with rotor housings, things become comparable). We can brag about having a high rev limiter, and can rev up to 9k rpm with comp bearings. To me, i use to LOVE NSX's but RX-7's beauty cannot be shunned. I just wish the reliability, gas mileage are as high as the NSX's, and YES. NSX's has been regarded as "super cars" to the less informed. But to the less informed, our cars are uber-sexy if they never realized that it's made by mazda.

I also hate how things rattle around, squeak in our 7's. I just wish there's a mod to make everything solid! My car is even dynomatted! But some plastics, just cannot be "unsqueaked".
