Um, NO.

The numbers in the article are based on actual recorded speed at the rpm. Speedometer error, tachometer error, different tire diameters, etc, all have an effect on the speed recorded. My car tops out just over 100 mph at 8k rpm just like R&T measured.

Also keep in mind ppl may change the rev limiter on their PFC etc, which will affect max rpm.

If you search, you'll find the individual gear ratios for the tranny, and you can use them to calculate max theoretical speed in gear based on tire & wheel size, rpm, etc etc.

hmm... I've gotten it to 144 in 4th, but I could only get to 152 in 5th. I'm sure you could +/- a few mph, but I wonder why the speedo would read faster in 4th and slower in 5th than the times listed in the article? I'd figure I'd be higher or lower in both departments.

1st 7920 is 40mph
2nd 7440 is 65mph
3rd 7360 is 94mph
4th 7380 is 132mph
1/4 mile 14.0@99.8 \top speed should be 164

thats using optimum shift points

airtemp 65 deg
barometric pressure 29.38
relative humidity 55%
elevation above reference 0
headwind or tailwind 0
roadgrade 0

all this comes in to play so not saying you didnt run faster than that.

You do not have to find it. Maybe/maybe-not, you could have calculated it yourself.

The manual list the gear ratios and you could find your tire static radius.
The rest is simple math. It would be a learning experience.

You can change the redline by using your pfc? What do most people set it at?

Default rev limiter is 8100 rpm. No point in changing it unless you have reason to do so and you have the modifications to support it.

Your rev limiter shouldn't be considered your redline, it should just be for accidental mis-shifts and over revs.

Why is that? I was under the impression that rotaries handled higher revs much better than piston engines do.

But the redline is 8000 rpm.

The redline is 8000 rpm for durability and power reasons. Unless you have a big turbo and massive porting, you are not going to be making good power that high anyway. There are several good threads about this in the rotary performance forum....
