Thumbs up For those with perpetual soot-bumper, a solution

Yo,

for all those rotary hombres who are running a midpipe or are running overly rich and have that nasty build up of smoot on the rear bumper, this stuff works like an absolute charm:

www.littleeffort.com

We used it at the shop about a year and a half ago and the stuff was amazing. I recently found their website again and ordered some. My dad used it on his rear bumper (which had a soot buildup on it, and he had tried various rubbing compounds without success) and was amazed at the results.....it takes the nastiness right off, without hard scrubbing and without harming the clearcoat at all. It is very concentrated, just dilute it with water, 2 or 3 parts water to one part cleaner.

Even better - Castrol Super Clean. Spray right on the bumper, wipe with sponge, hose off. I've used that for AGES on my old white TII that would get a THICK layer of yellow-orange crap on the back. Never had any problems with the paint, although it could typically stand a good wax after cleaning.

Super Clean is cheap, readily available, and is just an awesome all-round cleaner. It literally removes bad from good - I dunno HOW it does it. I use it for everything.

I'm surprised that there wasn't more interest in this thread. I just used the stuff on my rear bumper and taillights and am very happy with the results.

I use some stuff, i think it is called crud cleaner or something stupid. I clean my bumper and my wheels with it. The **** works like a charm and I pick it up at a hardware store. No ill effect to my clear coat or anything yet. Just spray on, and wipe off. No elbo grease or anything needed. It would be a good idea to spray the hose on it after its done to get any excess cleaner off.

The"orange", or "citrus" cleaners from Dollar General work very well for me. I also have the carbon fiber bumper guard form RE, but the soot goes all the way to the tail light and spoiler. This stuff gets it right off with minimal elbow grease, and its CHEAP.

Hmm, wonder why I don't get it on my bumper? I'm running a midpipe and RB exhaust... Exhaust tip gets very sooty but so far nothing on the bumper. And yes, I'm running rich and shooting flames.

Is it the daily stop-and-go commute that does it? I almost exclusively run mine on highway and track so I'm generally scootin' along pretty good I suppose...

Whatever - nice to not have that issue to deal with... so far.
