It's been done.
My friend Karl in Wisconsin didn't have much to do during a couple winters where he was shut in so he put one together sorta for kicks. That was a long time ago (it's been more than decade since I've seen or talked to him).

Not my personal cup of tea, but you can judge for yourself. It takes a fair amount of fabrication work/skill which Karl had.

If you dont wana keep the rotary, go with an LS engine. I cant see anything that the RB offers that the LS cant match (with expception, I6 vs V8 sound)
Its also tried and tested, and should be more or less "bolt-on".

In my opinion, if you really want an RB, put it where it actually belongs. Buy a cheap S13 or S14 and put it in that. It fits a lot easier and the swap is well documented.

Don't hack a 7 up for this. At least with the LS swap it's basically bolt in at this point with the kites available.

No need to bastardize a 7 with such a heavy engine. RB building is insanely expensive and parts are becoming more and more scarce as americans blow them up. I would pick a car with a longer engine bay as that engine isn't going to fit in there very nicely. At least with an LS swap, you have an aluminum block. You can build 3 13B blocks for the price of building one RB block. Just my 2 cents though.

I think you can fit an FD in an RB.

Interesting concept for sure. If that is the direction you want to go have you considered a 2JZ swap? Afaik there are more of those swaps that have been accomplished and it would be easier as there is a bit more of a roadmap there. Probably wont offer the baller points of a RB swap though.

Go with a 1JZ / 2JZ if you don't want to go V8. There are kits made up, wiring harnesses, and enough people have done the swap that you can get info. The exhaust of the 1JZ / 2JZ is also on the same side as the 13B's exhaust so you have more room to work with. You can fit a 2JZ with stock hood if you make your own sub frame. It'll be low but it fits with the stock hood.
