Is there a clean solution to the stock seatbelt, so it doesn’t bind in the gap?

Is there a clean solution to the stock seatbelt, so it doesn’t pinch/bind between the seat and door panel when pulled forward with the door closed?

Always have to readjust the belt, try to do it when the door is open...would like it to naturally not have this issue.

Wouldn’t mind seeing a solution that fixes the clearance issue of the belt retracting back to its normal unbuckled position, and having to be pulled through the very narrow gap between the seat and door panel.

Maybe something that holds the belt forward of the pinch point?

Looking at 3D printing a little clip or adding a bracket that doesn’t interfere with the normal contour of the seat plastics or cause any clearance issue when sliding in, or sliding the seat back and forth.

Any good ideas? Is it possible something is set up incorrectly, more people suffer with that admittedly small issue?

I use the factory loop/guide at the top of the seat. When exiting, I rest the belt/buckle on the side bolster. When entering, buckle up before closing the door.
I'd be interested in a less involved solution.
Nice car!

I know what your talking about but it’s just something I’ve gotten used to and not a huge issue. I think if any portion of the belt is held forward of that “pinch point” it will be also make it susceptible to being caught in the door jam. And in your case, possibly messing up the metal sill plate.

Well, your seat belt is supposed to go through the loop on the top part of the seat. Personally, a Recaro Pole Position was my solution and I know a custom door card would fix that issue too. It's crazy how small the cabins are on these cars.

Find someone to fab a part that bolts on the seal rail but leaves enough room for the seatbelt to move through that space freely. a lower seatbelt guide. Purists might hate the idea but it seems like an easy fix for anyone with some fabrication tools.
