Stock Alarm Issues and Seat Belt

Stock Alarm Issues and Seat Belt
I just picked up a 1993 and am having some fairly typical stock alarm issues: when I am driving the headlights will pop up and down, the horn honks, and the flashers flash.
Also, the seat belt light in the dash will light up intermittently, which I have not seen anybody else reporting in the searches that I have done. Using this light as a clue, I managed to 'fix' the problem by unbuckling my seat belt - the problem then goes away completely ... until I buckle the belt again.
I disconected the seat belt wiring harness under the seat hoping to make the car think that the belt was unbuckled, but it appears that the circuit is actually closed when the belt is unbuckled (the reverse of what I was expecting) so I am going to have to jump it.
Anybody else have the seat belt light come one in conjunction with an alarm malfunction?

moconnor-
so your stock alarm goes nuts while driving? thats nutso. check the kick panel on the drivers side. the stock alarm unit is located there. check for lose wires. if everything checks out there i would look into the door panel. through the drivers door panel you can easily overide the alarm system and have it off at all times.

What should I be looking for in the door panel?

There is a seat belt light on 93's? That's new to me too.
There should be a switch under the dash somewhere to turn the alarm off. Is going to be small. The day you find it, turn the key to ACC then hit the switch. Turn the switch off then start the car again. The alarm should be desable

I 'solved' it by jumping the connection under the driver seat that detects if the seat belt buckle is closed. Jumping this connection makes CPU #2 (which also controls the stock alarm) think that the seal belt buckle is not closed - which of course should have no effect on the alarm but it fixed my problem.
Oddly, even though the FD has seat belt buckle detection circuitry and a seat belt light on the dash, it completely ignores the signal and never illuminates this light.
I am actually ordering a CPU #2 this week to replace mine (several other things that it controls do not work so I suspect it is mostly dead) and should have it in a week or so. I will let you know if it works. My current working assumption is that my CPU #2 is hosed. Several other things that it controls do not work properly.
