i was driving my car today after i painted my calipers...i know thats rice but i wanted a little something before i get a brake kit...anyway, i noticed a strange clicking whenever i turn right. i checked it out and i couldnt see anything that might be rubing or stuck from the paint. i havent had the car up and the wheel off to really check it out. if anyone might know what it is please let me know thanks.

Did you get any paint on the rotors? The pads could be sticking to that as the rotors deflect as you turn. If it is that, it should go away after a few hard stops.

i just realized that the clicking stops after i brake. it doesnt really matter how hard i stop the sound keeps coming back.

i used a paint brush to do it and removed the caliper from the rotor. Does the caliper have parts that need to move freely other than the obvious ones. the little pins that have a flathead slot on it, iis that supposed to move freely maybe i sealed in place? and the tires are brand new and i checked to see if something was lodged in them already.all crear

its your CV half shaft that is broken i just had to do one of these on my car, assloads of fun

Why would it be a half shaft if the clicking occurs when he turns? I have a similar problem, but have not been able to locate it. I doubt it is the half shafts.

jeez, he said it started after painting the calipers. common sense would tell you that it would be the brakes.

It is caliper related though as I have the same issue. Mine does it when I turn left though. Probably the same problem. Mine started after I took the bridge bolts off the passenger side front caliper (I know wrong bolts to take out to change rotors). Anyways, I did the drivers side front the correct way and its fine. it is only when I turn left it feels like grinding on the rotor or caliper, but I cannot find evidence of it.

Maybe the pads cant move as free as they should be able to on my passengers side. I would think you may have a similar problem. Check the pins and pads on your calipers. apply some grease to the pins if they seem stuck. someone let me know if this is bad advice.

ive had an issue like that before. . . it was my anti-roll bar in the front. the bolts backed out. . . and one of them actually CAME out. take a look at the mounts for your front anti-roll/sway bar and see if theyre in there all the way/tight.

well check your cv boot, my car was going clickety click when i turned and my cv boot was torn in two. I replaced my halfshaft, no more clicking. Simple.

its a rear wheel drive care. the only constant velocity joints i have are in the rear and the only move up and down. i think twinturbo se7en is right im gonna have to check that out. thanks for the advice rotorbrain and twinturbo se7en. it seems like you two are the only ones that own an rx7 3rd gen.

Check the bolts holding the caliper in place.

Mine worked loose after 100miles and caused the caliper to move slightly under braking and steering.
