??? about differential mount/bushing

Are the two bushings that bolt from the rear sub frame to the differental mount filled with a dampening fluid? I was looking under my car and found a few drops of a clear fluid. It had no odor or taste and was had a thicker consistancy to it. I jacked the car up and traced it to the right rear bushing. The only other thing around there is a brake line and this is not brake fluid that is leaking. Thanks

Yes, the stock diff bushings are fluid filled. There are a few non-liquid options (MazdaComp - 40% harder than stock) or the other harder options such as JimLab's, RX7store.net, and RX7.com.

You need new diff bushings. Most people aren't lucky enough to catch the problem when the fluid first leaks.

Beware, if you go with the solid nylon Diff bushings(rx7.com), you will feel and HEAR a major difference. I just did mine, and now I can really hear the differential in the cabin. It's a loud grinding or whining nooise that you'd expect from gears. Some people actually like the noise.

My car is far from stock, so it's not that big of a deal. But if you're car is fairly stock and streetable. You may not want to go with solid Diff Bushings, just yet. On the plus side, my driveline is now solid w/o any slop.
