some weirid stuff...

k now but at the weekend i had some weirid things happening...

basically i removed my aircon (apart from whats behind the glove box - heard that would start causing some probems - dont know what tho)installed my gauges (still waiting for a sandwich plate but gauges are wired and already in)

after all that i started the engine and i spotted that my speedo shows 30mph and my mileage is going up..idle was on 1500 then after a while it started going down..(was accelerating and stuff, proper reving it )at the end got back to normal state..(800)

took my car for a spin and blown one water hose(one u use to bled the air) had to replace it so i had to take UIM off taken it off replace few more hoses, put everything back together and after i started the engine i had the same thing, idle 1000 mileage going up, had to put my foot on the accelerator pedal, accelerate d few times, then turn the enine off/on etc and after a while it got back to normal...

third thing happened just now, ok maybe not weirid but for me is...

i installed a boost gauge(like 15 mins ago) maybe i just dont know how to read it but on 1st gear , before i went to second was just below 10 then 10 etc.

got to the big roundabout and started drifting around it, my Boost gauge was showing 11/12 Psi then i slowed down (some geezer wanted to get on the roundabout so i thought its the right time to take off) but then car started breaking up, like a fuel cut or something - but not sure coz my reserve light went on aswell(forgotten to fill it up today :] )so it might be nothing serious..

ideas?

I would say sounds like you may have hit the over boost fuel cut, but at 12 psi that really shouldnt have happened. ima go with you were outa fuel from taking the corner?

yeah i spoken to some peolpe and i think it was more then likely just a fuel cut,

but what about other stuff? i started the engine today and i had the same problem, my speedo was showing like 20mph and revs about 1000 + the boost gauge niddle was on much more then 0 and it was shaking like if it wanted to go up- and down at the same time...

after i put my foot down and rev it a bity (it gets to 3k revs everything goes back to normal, and after rev gets to just below 2 it starts again...

what is it? i was just thinking maybe when i installed my gauges i fu**ed something up? did anyone see it before?

i thought about it today mate, the thing is maybe when i was wiring the gauges it could have got messed up...what i did was : i found this black block behind the stereo, there was few wires coming out of it, using multimeter i checked for live ,ground and ignition, i cut them wires and joined them usin connector block, i ran 3 wires aout of the joint and connected them in another connector block with my gauges..

how do i check for grounding problems? how can i solve it ?

cheers

find all the grounds that you touched and all the connection that you made and start inspecting everyone of em. hopefully you will find the culprit.

i have noticed something new today , when i start the engine speedo goes up, revs go up etc as it was but when i press the AC button it all goes back to normal, then i connect it back up and after a while i got the same thing...did i miss something during AC removal?

this is how it looks:

engine was warmed up so i went back to normal after a short while, normally i have it till the engine is warmed up..

so the issue is that your Speedo is moving with your tach when you are stationary and revving the car up? if thats the case it is electrical and i would suggest removing the speedo and checking it out (i beleive i read somewhere that the connections in them get bad and they can be fixed)

its not just a speedo, i was reving it to get the niddle back down, basically when i start the engine i got revs at 1500(where normally was 800) and the speedo shows 30-40 mph+ the mileage is going up(slowly but it does) its basically like if the car was moving really slow..

today i discovered that when i press the AC button when it does this stuff everything goes back to normal, but then after a while comes back and it keeps doing it until the engine is fully warmed up.

on the video i was reving it to get the niddle back to 0 as when the airpump got disingeaged everything goes back to normal too..

I have the same exact problem with my euro 300km/h speedo.
At first I didn't care for it, but after I installed my PFC, It wouldn't learn to idle since it always though it was doing 20-30km/h.
Since I still had another speedo + cluster (USDM), I swaped them alround and everything was OK. I assumed it was a problem when the speedo itself.
I plan on sending it to FDNewbie for testing/fixing, but I have more important things to do right now.

just now checked all my connections on gauges - they were fine wtf seriously i can now remember that the problem started when i disconnected the AC i remember starting the engine and we have had that and then installed the gauges and it happened again, just now i tried even unplugging all the cables going to the stereo, gauges, etc. it just still does it but what i noticed just now is when i turn any electrical device on AC or Lights speedo comes back to normal, its just when i start the engine... maybe i knocked some wires out when disconnecting the AC? what could it possibly be?
