Smoke under deceleration...

I've been having a "problem" recently. If I go WOT until redline and let go of the throttle, SOMETIMES a big cloud of smoke would come out of the exhaust. It is embarassing to say the least, and worrysome. Thanks

are u running the stock turbos?
have u recently changed anything on the car or did this problem come outta no where?
more details please

make sure your vent on your oil filler neck is not plugged.......this vents the "crankcase" so the oil can drain from the turbo smoothly

Blue-ish white smoke under decel = turbo oil seals. Need to pull of intake piping and downpipe/cat to inspect for oil.

i can tell u there will be oil in the ic piping just from his symtoms.......obviously its blowing past the seals in the turbo cartridge...
feed line restrictor/ oil return line / vent are whats important to check here here.......
the turbo seals are not necesarily bad.......if one of these 3 components is not right
we need more details from the thread starter

Yes, there is oil in the IC pipes and inside ther IC. There is heavy oil deposits where the y pipe is. I recently but a MP, DP, a radiator and a wideband. I will checm the line in the oil filler neck to see is that would be it.

I will be going non-seq in a few weeks, I hope to solve the problems then. I also hope my turbos are not damaged, they still pull hard.

OH, BTW, I saw this just yesterday. My stock oil preasure would sometimes read 0 at idle. If I rev it, it would increae to 60. This does worry me.

what grade of oil are u using........and when was the last time u changed it?
thicker oil will yield more oil pressure.
i would trust that stock gauge to much though. they are junk. your oil pressure should be fine if u are gettin a reading when the engine speed increases

the vent line on the oil filler neck runs down into a hardline (along side the turbo oil feed line and then into the plastic intake pipe on the front turbo(not the hose with the pcv valve connected to the uim). pull that hose off the oil filler neck and plug it with a bolt or something. then go boost the car and c if it still smokes on deceleration. u can also remove the o ring in your oil cap to vent the "crankcase" a little more.
if it still smokes the turbo return lines maybe restricted
good luck

If you see at least 50 PSI at 3000 rpm, you're probably OK. It's the oil pressure sending unit (all Mazda engines; it's not just an FD problem).

Smiter, thanks for the info, much appreciated. Donlift, I am getting 60psi at 3000 RPM, so I I am safe.

It is time for an oil change, only 100 miles till the next one. I am using Castrol GTX 10-30.
