rode in a 3 rotor

dropped my car off at gotham racing for a 5 speed swap. Steve took me for a ride in his 3 rotor. All I can say is WOW. I couldn't get the grin off my face for an hour. Now, I can't stop thinking about it. Anyone want to buy a kidney?

Lucky, i'd love to ride in a 3-rotor. How was the feeling when he hit the gas, also how'd it sound?

sounds completely different-sounds like an f1 car. similar, but not quite as peaky as a 787B. 1st and 2nd gears were useless wheel hop/spin. 3rd slams you back into the seat and the traffic and scenery rushes towards you. Suddenly you are out of road and thrown forward as the brakes do their thing. It was like an amusement park ride. I was embarrased to note at the end of the ride that I was holding onto the door handle like a little bitch.

Damn, i sure any normal person after a ride in that thing would be holding on to the door handle tight as hell.

I road in the PFS 3 rotor they did for Kevin Roberts in Ga back inthe late 90's. Very nice and it started my dream of a 3 rotor FD.

Well just got off the phone with Steve and he said that the RA apex seals are warp'd, so he's got to pull the motor again. I guess it ain't nothing better than stock apex seals.

He didn't say he just said that he had a bunch of them and decided to use them to see how they would hold up.

I thought the RA seals were a lot stronger than the stockers...guess they don't fare up as well as I thought.

ya, the motor has to come out again. One of my rotor has 30psi all across all three faces. The other two is around 65psi so I have to put factory seals in to avoid that problem. I didn't think that at 8psi would warp the seals since the car was tuned to 11:1 a/f at 8psi (which is way too rich for the boost level). If I had to guess the hp rating, I would have to say around 450-475rwhp since I have a healthy street port with the T88 (thumper) turbo.

I'll be calling RA for some replacement. (probably not gonna use it).

Full boost is around 4300rpm and slowly creeps to around 10psi at 7rkpm.

Sorry to hear that Steve. I remember just touching that beast in Knoxville! I still look at the pictures every once and a while just to think maybe one day I'll give one.

Just reading this is making me anxious to go get my final tuning. Had my three rotor installed about one month ago and am now due for the final session (1,000 miles). Will be at Pettit in a week or two!!

Seriously, I'd pay like $20 for a quick ride in a 3 rotor
