i get to go pick my car up from the bodyshop today and you guessed the dumbasses flooded it becasue they moved it around and didnt warm it up ect..
so i know pretty much how to deflood it and get it to start but im confused on which relay i pull ? is it the one that says EGI main relay and its yellow? (4th and 5th pic on this page -> click here and if im wrong can you steer me in the correct direction. thansk for any help

 

pull egi u can pull the fuel pump relay in the front too

Or you could just floor the gas pedal. It basically does the same thing as pulling that fuse. Guys at my body shop did the same thing a few weeks ago. I can honestly say that the ATF in the 2 bottom plug holes is the only way ive ever got it to start after being flooded. And make sure your getting a jump from another car....it helps out alot.

 

Stupid question,but i'll ask anyway..How can you tell if it's flooded?

 

Car won't start for any aparrent reason.

 

Does it crank over when it's flooded or nothing at all?

 

It'll crank all day long when it's flooded. It just won't start.

and one redneck at the body shop kept saying" you have to change the oil first if you dont when it does fier up it will blow the oil pan off "

 

Boy that's one dumb redneck.

If you have the right 3/8" sparkplug socket, you can remove the black throttle elbow and reach down to get to the plugs.

Nows a good time to learn how to change your spark plugs then. Go get a new set and replace them since your gonna be taking them out anyway.

thanks for the info , so if i take the elbow off thier esay to access? i can change plugs on other cars but i jsut didnt think i could get to them on my fd was gonna let someone else deal with it. i have q 400 peice craftsman mechanic tool set so i thisnk i have the right 3/8 plug socket but incase not which one is it

 

Changing the plugs is pretty easy, I don't have to remove anything to get to the plugs personally and I don't have small hands/forearms, it's just a matter of squeezing in there . I just use the pedal to the floor method for unflooding, but everyone has their personal favorite so try out a few and see which works best for you. I have yet to use ATF but i'm thinking I'll try it next time.
