rattles and squeaks
how many rattles and squeaks do you guys have on your car? and what is the best way to get rid of some of them? Swap out the bushings? My car seems to have more than its share of squeaks and clunks and rattles....

well.. i guess i'm not so concerned about the squeaks in the interior.. more concerned that some of the bumps and clunks are more serious - and could foretell something loose in the suspension or something. With the Saab, there are less "noise" so I can tell when something is wrong, but the RX has so many damn rattles and clunks and stuff that I cant what the hell I should be concerned about...

BTW, I have a squeak coming from inside the dash somewhere; it goes away whenever I start turning the steering wheel. Anyone know where this is coming from and how to fix?

get some spray on lithium greese and hit all the hatch, door, and hood joints. that took care of 50% of my sqeeks and the door/hood/hatch all open/close very smooth now.
clunks are a different issue, probably bad bushings. with ur car up on stands, grab a wheel and try to move it in one axis (up down, or left right), then the other axis...if it moves at all or there is any toggle, then you have some worn bushings/suspention links and they definelty cluck on bumps, turns or momentum changes

Plan on replacing pillow-***** every 30-60k depending on driving style. Spherical bearings wearing out is fairly typical on any car that uses them (not many on the street).

ha damn... wish mine was squeak free. With 11 years and 62k miles, I figure most of the bushings are old. Thinking its time for me to replace all of mine bushings out and replaced. Roar, how much did you spend to have that done? both labor and parts?
