Rats nest -- almost done

Full write-up coming soon. I did the hose job, fuel injectors, rewrapped the harness, new super check valves, etc.
Car has been down for 2 weeks and counting. I've been taking my time though...usually about an hour per night after the wife and kid are asleep. That way, they can't hear me cuss.

You never thought about going non sequential?
I was seriously looking into doing the "simplified sequential" setup, but doing it requires removal of the ACV and subsequently the air pump. That's a can of worms I don't want to get into (yet).

I hear ya, im going thru the same right now, i'm going to remove all emissions junk and go non-sequential once I learn to handle my car well. I still havent not driven my FD in the 2yrs i've owned it.. Hopefully this friday will be the first day shes out and ready!
I broke 2 solenoid nipples, but I was able to repair both of them. It's one of the many times that reminds me how nice it is to have a drill press.
John: I'm not sure which one you're talking about? I removed the alternator, rats nest, coils, and fuel rails. I replaced some of the turbo hoses, but most of them are still in good shape. I think the turbos on the car are not that old. The hoses in the rats nest were the originals as far as I can tell.

There is a vacuum hose that goes to the back of the lower intake manifold. It is a real bitch to get to. You have to remove the turbos and then the LIM. Keep it in mind if you ever have the engine out.

That's a good picture. I like how your wires are covered. I've been taking off the brittle plastic and tie wrapping silicone over mine. The wires get more brittle then the hoses and a new harness is bank.
Sonny I did mine about three weeks ago and you will really notice the difference. By the way, while you have access to the solenoids check em. I found two that had very high resistance.
Ther best price I have found for a new harness is around $600 and that I ain't doin'. But mine is really hard-baked.

yes I did the silicone rats nest rebuild too.....I see you found a way to fix the broken nipples...I took ink pens....took out the pen part and cut the tubing and then super glue it worked great......unfortunantly my coolent seals went out so I am going back in now and taking everything off again....good luck on yours...
I checked all of the solenoids' resistance and verified that they were working by applying 12v. Almost every check valve was leaking.
I did not check the injectors, but I still have access to them so I can do that. I have had RC do injectors for me before though, so I'm not super worried.
The hose kit is the Hose Techniques kit. It's expensive ($118), but it looks like I'm gonna have a lot of extra silicon hose and the cutter is nice. It's a cigar cutter as far as I can tell, but that's one less trip to Walmart.
The wire loom is from McMaster. It's their 300 deg F nylon loom. The standard automotive stuff is 200 deg F. I wanted to do silicon tape, but the tape I got wasn't sticky enough.

I intend to just replace things as they break, hopefully catch them before they break. Once I have my girl paid off and a home of my own she will take a 4 month slumber whilst I redo her inside and out... Big parts of that include either a simplified sequential or parralell BNR S2's... they seem to be a winner amounst the crowd.

I am in the middle of doing my hose job now. I look forward to Sonny's write up. I am doing mine on week-ends and have missed last week end due to my son's baseball tournament. I hope I can get it back together after not looking at it for 2 weeks. I managed to only break one solenoid and lose one of the phillips screws when removing the nest. Fortunately I purchased extra solenoids from the forum from someone going single.
Hey TCB100, what is the resistance rating supposed to be for the solenoids? I tested each one with a 12 volt battery and a mityvac. They all worked but I did not test them for resistance.
