Auto tranny line?

Hey Guys,

I just purchase 1994 FD auto for my semi daily driver. I had notice a strong fuel odor and decided to investigate, it turns out that the FPD is leaking fuel and I consider myself lucky before things got out of hand.

Anyhow, when I pulled the UIM and the rats nest out, notice a rubber line on top of the tranny that is capped out with a small bolt. Does anyone know what it does, or where it suppose to go?

I think it is for the ATF dipstick. It looks like maybe it broke and someone just plugged the pipe.

There's supposed to be a dipstick there.

It is NOT the dipstick, it is a vent tube. There is nothing wrong with it, leave it just like it is.
