You may be fine, but that fire ext. just cost you a FD... I would sue fire ext. makers for the loss of your car

This is the only 3rd gen I would've ever considered buying. If I were to ever buy one, it would have been mirrored after this car. Wow..

I'm really sorry to hear about this...

Mine caught on fire the same way...never thought an electrical fire would get so bad. I also only had liability. It was a total loss.

Good luck to you in the future, I know how you feel.

Mate, im truely sorry for your loss. Just looking at the pics made me realise how easy it is to lose your pride and joy. Ive had an engine fire before, and thankfully i had a bottle of water in the car which was enough to put it out. Since then ive always had a fire extinguisher and at least 1 bottle of water in the car. Im definately going to check my F.E. now for the brand.

Hope you find the inspiration to start another project and hope to see it on the forums soon

-James

Seriouly man, i feel your pain, about a month a little minior electrical fire happened to my Fc and Destroyed all the wiring, and i cryed, and it waz only a 1,000 dollar FC, but had had 2 years of working on it, just like the hrs you hid into your FD, i saw lots of the progress on that car, i loved that car, i looked forward to talkin my Fc to a meet to see it someday, and checking it out, but both of our cars died but i ended up now geting a new second gen and a First gen... soo mabee it was for the best??? everything happens for a Reason.. im just Really Glad you dident get injured in the fire, cuz money cant buy health, i serious know how it feels, loosing your 7 is like loosing a faimily member, you get so attached to these cars

Real soz about your pride and joy mate but just imagine if it caught fire in your garage at night whilst your asleep?

All the best in finding another fd and remember folks, when buying the f e make sure you get a powder one and also make sure the plastic tie wrap is in place, otherwise it may have been used or had the trigger pressed. Try and buy a one with a gauge also. As soon as the trigger is pressed the f e must be disposed of. Dont pour water over petrol otherwise it will make it worse.
