wow.. if that happened to me I'd probably cry too man. I can't really imagine the amount of hours or money that you have put into your car, or let alone the overall appreciation of the whole project. I can tell you that im sure it was quite a bit, and all I can say is im sorry that you lost your car.

I hope however, that you got some kind of insurance money or something out of this. But when all things come to an end, all you can do is start over and hope that its better.

Sorry to hear about that. I guess underhood fires are more common than I thought....there is an ebay auction listed today for an FD that suffered fire damage as well. At least it looks like you made it OK, you can always rebuild something bigger and better in the future.... that option is always open for you to explore.

Do me a favor John, right after you win the big nasty class action law-suit that should come from this travesty and buy your 2002 Spirit-R, drive down to the nazimuffin cupcake f**ktards that made that fire extinguisher and take a good healthy dump in their oatmeal. And then jab them in the eyes with a rusty spoon covered in mayonaise.

that pisses me right off, sounds like someone needs a swift kick in the *****, i would go after them for the damages to the car, thats me if you don't want to don't you maybee able to save your money and invest in a New FD and work on it, maybee not the same degree as your previous, but still a FD none the less. thats my 2 cents. I've only been cruising the site for about 2 months yet i still look upon your car in awe everytime i see it, you have tellent in modding cars, i ;de hate to see ti go to waste on something not as worthy as an FD, i know you will never be able to replace it, but atleast you would still have some satisfaction left. Whatever your decision the whole forum will support you, that i know, so good luck in your jouney, but find something to to aleast mend the hole in your heart.

John,

you are a MUCH bigger man than I ever could be in that situation. Me and my wife both feel your pain.

Good luck man! I like how you are dealing with this frustrating situation.

I would be killing myself if somthing like this happned to my FD but it would get 3 time bigger if I had a fire extinguisher at hand and it did not do it job.

Sincerely you have my deepest respect for you loss.

Hey John, I'm not sure if you remember me, but my name is Jason and you bought my PFC (my first one atleast) back in '02 or '03 a few years ago. You were actually one of the first friends I had on this site after our transaction. Anyways I'm really sorry to hear about your loss, especially since I was tracking the threads of your single turbo build up. You definately had a very nice FD.

Hope you end up getting another one when the time is right. And from now on remember to keep 2 fire extinguishers incase one is a dud .

-Jason

Wow, shitty. At least you're still safe, and FWIW I would sue the fire ext. manufacturer, their product failure caused you $$$$$ and lots of it. I'm not a big lawsuit fan, but this is totally legit.

x...

sorry to hear about that John... glad you're alright... keep your health, and get back up and build another FD. Although, I would still sue that extinguisher company.

damn it... When it rains it ******* pours You had a nice FD . My condolences for your car. Hope you are ok
The fire extinguisher did not work ? I would sue the maker or Home Depot that would allow such a defective product to be sold. What if it was to save someones life ? I think you have very good grounds to sue. It turned a "would-be" small incident to a total lost. Remember to keep the stupid extinguisher for evidence.

We all feel for you . Get well soon and sue the *******

I think you missunderstood a little this part.
Couple of weeks ago when the smal elec. fire acured, I had another f.e. that actualy worked and killed the fire in less than 30 sec..
Than, I cleaned the area where the powder when all over and made sure I pulled the fuse and cut those wires off, started the car, once I noticed that everything was fine, (I take electricity and any mech. work done in my car very seriously) I drove towards my destination and in my way there stoped at Home Depot and got a new f.e.
Right after I did what I had to do and before the end of the day, I repaired the burned elec. wire ( the next day I was going to the track so I had to make sure she was in tip-top shape) and that was it.
