Question: '99-spec lip-spoiler and smoked combo-lights?

I conducted multiple searches on this website and found lots of information on these parts which I would like to install on my car, but I still have a couple questions left unanswered:

1.) I read that the '99-spec combo-lights that weren't OEM had issues with melting/burning; Has anyone heard of this pre-'99 design having similar problems?

2.) I read that the '99-spec lip-spoiler had a slight fitment problem mating with pre-'99 front-bumpers; can anyone elaborate on this "fitment problem", and perhaps tell how to cure it?

3.) My searches yielded several sources from which I can purchase these parts, but where do you all think is best?

All help/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Melting and burning are wiring issues. I wouldn't think the housing would cause that.

So where is the best place to purchase these items?

BTW, does anyone have any pics of an FD with both or either of these parts installed on it?

A TON of people have those aftermarket turn signals, you can get them from rx7store.net. There are no issues, they plug into the stock harnesses.

The 99-lip does not match up exactly. Read here: http://reganrotaryracing.tripod.com/lipntail.htm

I can attest to the lip not lining up exactly. But I got mine to fit much better than pictured in that link.

Not "cause" it. But the housing can be built of poor quality not made to withstand high temps. I personally have spoken w/ a few ppl who have had their cheap imitation combo lights melt on 'em. But those were the Makita type brands. I know Chuck's are high quality despite not being OEM.

If your car is red, your better off with the smoked/blacked out lights to go with the 99 lip. IMO it looks hot.

Someone has that combo on here, i forget who.

When i got my FD it already had the 99 Spec combo lights - as seen in your pictures. Because one was burnt out, the seller told me some b/s about it being a relay switch or somthing, but when i investigated it - one was burnt/melted inside the housing, and the other one was pretty bad too. I was able to fix it by resoldering, but it may prove to be a temporary fix. Anyways i think it was because the light was an imitation, and not the genuine OEM part.

I'd just like to point out that these are not 99 spec combo lights. They're 93-95 lights that have been altered. the 99 spec combo lights fit in the 99 bumper, as seen in my sig.

Just don't want any future confusion for people performing searches etc.

it's not off subject. It's an older FD with a 99 lip spoiler and smoked driving lights. That's exactly what the thread is titled and it shows that it works out fine. A picture is worth a thousand words you just got 800 or so of them.
