oil pressure problem
oil pressure problem
ok, here is the problem. my oil pressure was bouncing between 0 and 35psi when i am accelarting hard. I thougt it might be the sender, so i replaced it with a mechanical guage and found the sender was indeed bad but the same problem still occurs. Now it just bounces between 50 and 110 under full accelartion. I have never heard of an oil pump going bad but i guess it could happen. Any ideas on what the problem could be?
Thanks for you time and help

To my understanding this happens quite normally and shouldn't be concerned about unless you got a huge leak or burning oil problem like myself cuz of the turbo
There is a reason why this gauge was replaced with a boost gauge on the more recent 7s, can u guess why?

He's got a vacume leak and he boosting improperly? Just a guess.. but under full acceleration your turbo is the only thing really cranking and they are oil cooled...

Wow, a few responses to this thread are a little scary....
Your oil pressure should go up as your rpms increase. ~30 at idle, ~50-60 at 3k rpm, approaching 90+ psi near redline. You need to check your oiling system out -- oil level, oil metering pump, oil pump, etc.
