Unhappy Oil keeps dissapearing...

Bought my 93' Touring 7 a 3-4weeks ago. Midway the first week I had her, I checked the dipstick after the oil pressure guage was going bonkers, it was DRY. I buy 2qts of Castrol GTX nonsynthetic and put her in and it marks up midway on the dipstick after checking. Drive her for 2 more weeks and my oilpressure guage begins to go bonkers again and now stays on red light, check the oil again and its DRY once again. WTF is happening and what should I do? What should my oilpressure guage read normally? Help

and you don't notice any oil on the ground?

what about out the exhaust?

sounds like my rebuilt motor from mazsport. First time I gave it a little gas in first it blew up. I had been losing oil exactly as you describe for 2 weeks before with no evidence of it anywhere like someone was stealing it. I guess it was the oil seals in the engine.

my engine has been rebuilt by Rotary Performance. It currently has 65K miles on it. I just recently put 1K miles on it, so 64K when I got it.
Did I just put my foot into a bear trap?!?!
[edit]: No signs of Oil spilling in the garage and thats where it sits during the weekdays.

I have a 4yr unlimited mile warranty on the car. But Im afraid to mention anything thats been going wrong majorly so soon, because I figured they'd write it off as "well this is how you bought it as-is".

What is everyones suggestions on what I should do? The dealer didnt mention any of the problems I have been recieving; 5th gear synchro, this oil problem.

fd's do eat oil but im not sure if it ssuppose to eat that much. are you seeing any oil in the exhaust or on teh ground? how hard are you driving the car? also, did you try to change the oil? put in 4.5 quarts when you do and see where that goes up to on the dip stick.

oh yeah, check your coolant and see if there is a lot of oil in there

It should not eat an excessive amount of oil. But, get under the car (yes, do it) and look at the bottom of your turbos (on the right side of the car).

Also, check your PCV one-way valve for proper operation.

my engine uses about 1/2 quart every 1500 miles, I think this is pretty normal

it's amazing how many crackerjack motors there are out there....you get what you pay for

If you think its from the amount I paid, then go ahead. Considering I probally paid more than what I should have...

That's the wrong attitude. You have a warranty -- USE IT! I put about $3000 on my warranty the first month I had the car....(OMP and suspension bushings).

When you fill the oil, fill it to the top of the measuring line on the dipstick. If you only fill it 1/2 way, you car is already low on oil.

I'm getting this same problem. I havn't noticed any oil in the exhaust... but i have noticed it in my intake pipes. I felt oil around the bottom of one of the silicon connectors when i was toolin around with somethin, took one of the pipes off and noticed oil in there. I think my turbos are crappy and are bypassing oil into my intake. I just bought my car too... with 650 mile on the motor... rebuilt at RP. I was loosing coolant for a while too, but, not anymore :\
also, my car was sitting outside at work.. and fuel started leaking out of the gas cap, anybody else had this problem???

Well well... Started her up today in the garage (w/ GDoour open), let her idle for awhile when I went inside to grab a few things, I come back out to clouds of smoke and quickly shut the door. I go back out, get in my car and pull her out and drive down my street being tailed by exhaust. I go back set it in neutral, stops smoking for a bit, I rev it up 3K+ and let off and boom more smoke puffs out like Snoopdogs tourbus. Called RP and they said they think its probally an oil seal. Made an oppointment w/ them on June 7th to check her out for themselfs.
One more question; How safe would it be to drive this car 30miles up to RP ?

You will have some oil in your intakes coming in through the breather pipe when you are under boost.

Your fuel coming out of the petrol cap is probably due to your tank not venting and pressurising, causing fuel to push out of the cap.

ha..Found a problem w/ her. Got back home today, started her up and walked back to the rear and DID see some liquid substance on the ground. Get down there and see a dollar bill size whole in the canister of my exhaust. I felt the substance on the ground, wasnt too sure what it was. Im guessing I blew that whole there from when the "overheat exhaust" light came on the other day. Could this be any form to any problem Ive been having? I put my finger in the exhaust and wiped my finger in it and there was some liquid substance in there, not too sure what it was.
My cousin is claiming that there is a fouled turbo, RP is claiming Oil seal. What do you have to say?

oh well that's good to know, i was worried my turbos needed to be rebuilt, although it probably wouldn't hurt. Found the source to my leak too, guess i never noticed it before because i have floor mats under my car in the garage.

lots of smoke would have been a huge clue for me to shut it off and call RP immidiately...
