Oil in the Intake?

I was making some adjustments on my car when I noticed there was oil in the two main intake hoses. It was mostly sludge to the Primary turbo and then liquid to the secondary. What the hell is it doing there? Any suggestions how it may have gotten there?

Preface: I have the Apexi intake and have 800 miles on a rebuilt engine due to oil seal failure.

i know a little bit of oil from the crank case vent and turbo blowby are normal but too much is a symptom of turbo seals failing. others include excess oil spitting from the BOV and some smoking. do you have high milage turbos?

Oil in the intake is a common symptom of PCV valve failure, as well. Much cheaper than rebuilding a turbo, I'd imagine...

I had the same symptom when my twins were leaking oil...oil in the filter and intercooler piping. Could be the pcv valve like was stated before but i know it was the seals on my turbos that were doing it for me.

PCV. Sludge though, I'm not so sure you need to explain a little better.

By sludge I mean dried up oil. It's kind of more a slimy solid than a liquid.

So what's up? I need to change that valve I assume?

The turbos have around 110k, but when they came off the last car at 90k the manifold was perfect and they had their oil seals replaced. Also, my mechanic said they looked fine when he looked at them during the rebuild.

Update: I went throught the entire intake system last night and it is just covered in oil coming from the BOV. It's all the way to the TB. So if it is the PCV, do I replace it?

Anyone know the part # and around how much it costs?

One way or another it looks like I'll have to remove the turbos this summer and check everything else.

Also, what's gonna be the best way to clean out all these pipes when I solve all these problems? What about the intercooler which is almost surely full of oil as well?

A little more detailed advice please

Bump...So I just took every pipe out as well as the intercooler, but I still need my post above answered.

The car basically goes through a quart of oil a week. The oil in the intake track is causing several boost leaks, but after a lot of driving, enough oil accumulates on the couplings and where the lower intercooler pipe meets the TB that I get full boost, so it doesn't seem as though the turbos have gone on me.

Still, I poured about a cup of oil just out of the intercooler alone. If you guys could PLEASE answer my above post, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

It could be your oil injectors...the check valves can go bad and leak oil into the intake tract. But let's face it, if you are getting a lot of oil in your intake tract, it's a lot more likely that the oil seals in the turbos are bye-bye.
